The man accused of ramming his car into protesters in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Saturday seems to have already been found guilty by the media but there may be more to the story than is being reported.

A video posted on Streamable reveals that the driver of the Challenger had slowed down and was apparently calm, until protesters hit his vehicle with a blunt object such as a baseball bat or large flag pole.

Does not compute. If you can avoid a life-threatening situation and instead rush into one, saying you can't get out without killing somebody isn't reasonable under the circumstances and isn't going to get you off the hook.
All I’ve seen about the decedent is that she was struck by the vehicle. Was she struck by the vehicle while it was moving forward or backward? That could have a major impact on the outcome of the case.
Certainly, what the videos and massive speculation here show is there’s a great deal of doubt about the driver’s state of mind and motivation. Right now there’s as much chaos as there was in the initial stages of the Martin and Brown cases, where the ultimate findings were not guilty due to self defense. Something like the might well happen here.
If he had done nothing, he would have suffered the same fate as Denny if he were lucky, since Denny survived the attack.
You ever been in a situation like that?
I have. It wasn’t that big of a crowd but it was an angry crowd that had us boxed in. I wasn’t the driver but my ex marine buddy was and he told me to hold on. “If they get any closer I’m gonna run them over. If they get us out of the truck we are dead.”
Luckily it didn’t happen but at the time, I was scared shitless but totally understood what my buddy said.
Ask Reginald Denny what happens when you stop and get out.
The guy with the stick did not look slo mo.
Unless it’s a parade or a crosswalk you also don’t walk on the streets.
I did drive into a crowd in France. I was patient and they moved out of the way as if was something they do frequently. None of us were inconvienced too much.
If the identified flag man in the in-front picture vs. behind picture is the very same man, he had enough time to raise his sunglasses to the top of his head before attacking the car. Belies a fast-moving vehicle narrative at least to that point.
I did and that’s my impression
Look at the positions of his car in the stills vis a vis the video
It's easy to say that when you're sitting in front of your computer instead of behind the wheel.
Have you ever been involved in a situation like that -- as a motorist? I have.
Wrong. If the crowd surrounds you, and starts pounding on your vehicle with baseball bats, you have EVERY right to defend yourself by any means necessary. No person is required to surrender their life. If he wanted to kill a hundred people he could have. That car could’ve been travelling 90 miles an hour when it struck the crowd. And, what are the other cars doing there? Why were they stopped? I want to talk to the owners of the other vehicles if I am an honest detective.
This was not a crowd of tourists. Or locals. Facts matter. You do not drive your car into a crowd of protesters. Should they attack your car? No. Should you be there in the first place? No. Should you then kill a girl on the way out? No.
Trump, unlike Obola in similar situations, is being very wise in saying he’s not sure what happened.
Because, regardless of his particular points of view, he is afforded the right to a fair trial, with a jury of his peers. If we lose sight of the fair trial aspect, we're no better than the last century of leftists wrenching control from those who didn't fight back.
At the same time, fairness is taking into consideration all evidence. Edited videos presenting certain narratives may be completely changed by viewing the same videos, or other videos, unedited.
Then go ahead and do it jackass, kill 100 people, I’ll applaud your hanging. Geez grow up. You don’t drive into that crowd and btw I’ve seen the video of him driving way down an empty street to get to that crowd. He’s not worth defending here.
You obviously don’t have all the facts, but keep ranting.
Who was the girl killed on the way out?
The only information I've found anywhere indicates that the lone fatality was struck when the car plowed into the crowd moving forward. I may even be able to identify her (as I've seen the narrative posted elsewhere) in some of these photos.
One thing is for sure: the police forensic work in this case is going to involve a lot of effort.
