Polar bears hurt by climate change are more likely to turn to a new food source humans is the rather chilling headline WaPo went with in its article, published Thursday. The Post reported that with higher temperatures, the more likely polar bears are to interact with humans and possibly attack and eat them.
WaPo relied on a recently-published study in the Wildlife Society Bulletin that looked at recorded polar bear attacks going back to 1870. The authors found no trend in the number of attacks by decade through 2014, which youd think would count against the claim that bear attacks increase with less ice, but you thought wrong.

Soft, pink and salty.
The Left should love this. They want more humans dead.
I just saw a documentary on a community of Inuits. They live among Polar Bears. It seems that there is an abundance of them so they have to give the bears the right-of-way in order to avoid confrontations.
Ha ha ha ha go away silly fake media you are embarrassing yourself and all of fakemediakind.
Their table manners are obviously lacking... Momma should have at least put a bib on the baby.
I’m more reliable and organized than creative. Put Bill the Son in charge of your advertising campaign, and put me in charge of running your food service and cleaning crew.
You take care, too! You’re much closer to those bears than I am ;-).
Oh, that reminds me! Last week I bought a t-shirt at The Salvation Army store (”Bank of America supports the Wounded Warrior Project”) for “patriotic t-shirt day” at Boy Scout camp for another son. For $.50. When I was putting it away after washing it, I noticed there was a tiny Canadian flag lapel-pin fastened in the hem. It was a little spooky, as if I accidently barged into a Canadian espionage chain or something.
Aren't Polar Bears Arctic while Penguins are Antarctic and other places more or less in the southern hemisphere?
Great, President Trump can turn them loose in Versailles on the Potomac to drain the swamp. Start them off with the media.
A NEW fear. How utterly delicious. *clutching pearls* A national histrionic personality disorder!! A new source of click bait headlines!!!
I saw a big white bear out in the road, so I shot it.
Turned out to be a FEDEX van.
Still, it makes a nice trophy on the wall.
“Arctic” or “Antarctic” .... Just a spelling variant for the WaPo reporters.
Geography is no longer a core requirement in journalism school. /sarc
There is a marketing opportunity for "bare bear slime" and "donkey slime."
Eskimos can tell you that train left the station a long time ago.
On the North slope oil facilities they have snipers on the roofs at all times to keep the polar bears from eating the personnel as they go from one building to another.
Newsflash! Polar bears already do have a taste for human flesh. Hungry polar bears will attack and kill anything they want.
I think the biggest causation for rising polar bear attacks is because human population in the Arctic is ever increasing so more people are crossing paths with the largest, most powerful carnivore on earth.
Another cause for increasing attacks may be that as fewer people hunt polar bears their fear of people is diminishing. When I was growing up in eastern Montana in the 1970s I rarely saw a coyote but now that everyone quit taking potshots at them from their pickups you see them everywhere. When I was back visiting for Christmas about 5 years ago over a two week vacation I saw a coyote, a bald eagle, several hawks, several wild turkey, and at least 5 deer in my parents 1/4 acre yard in the middle of town. I doubt that starvation caused by global warming is driving them into town to eat people, they are just no longer afraid.
Also all of the nerdy, whackadoo climate change scientists running around flapping their hands and screeching look both wounded and delicious.
