DONALD Trump has waded into the fight to save Charlie Gard and offered to help the stricken baby.
A British court has ruled that little Charlie – suffering with mitochondrial depletion syndrome – should have his life support machine switched off.
But the billionaire US President has joined the battle to help the ten-month-old undergo an experimental treatment in America.
He wrote: “If we can help little #CharlieGard, as per our friends in the U.K. and the Pope, we would be delighted to do so.”
Trump’s words come just one day after Pope Francis added his voice to calls for Charlie to be given one final shot at life.
The pontiff said Charlie’s parents should be allowed to “accompany and treat their child until the end”.

It is the idea that parents should not be allowed to seek a different opinion or a different medical treatment without the consent of the current medical doctors.
It has nothing to do with who is paying for it. And it happens in the US. Boston Children Hospital is notorious for this.
Simply a prelude to forced abortion "for the children".
Flip flopping on the dignity and sanctity of human life like some business as usual politician.....OMG
What I want to know is what the hell right does a court have to tell parents, who have raised the funds, that they cannot take their child to whatever country they want for treatment for that child — regardless of whether it is experimental or not. That is insanity.

Ben Carson could talk to Johns Hopkins or Mayo or St Judes or whoever, to do whatever needs to be done, at cost, in an act of good will.

The only thing important to Francis is his leftist politics and his interference in Latin American politics...this Pope stuff is incidental. But of course, he wants to impose his leftist dream worldwide, now that he’s been empowered. Pray that he can be stopped.
What can it hurt? If the US medical system can prove GOSH wrong, GOSH and the british authorities will be in a world of hurt.
The Pope made two statements, and the second one (after unspecified pressure from “conservatives”) wasn’t great but it was better.
Trump, on the other hand, did this on his own.

What the Pope said was meant to be taken either way. It was not a firm stance for preservation of life.
Yes, another display of empathy and compassion from President Trump. Which completely rules out the armchair diagnosis of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. When are all of the psychiatrists screaming for Trump’s head going to acknowledge this development? If they need a refresher on narcissism, they need look no further than our President’s predecessor.
I haven’t been following this story but it sounds like more government inserting itself where it doesn’t belong with grave consequences for innocents.
