Cowen says McDonald's will upgrade 2,500 restaurants to its "Experience of the Future" technology by year-end, which includes digital ordering kiosks.
The firm raises its rating on McDonald's to outperform from market perform and price target for the shares to $180 from $142.
Same store sales estimate for 2018 raised to 3 percent from 2 percent.
McDonald's shares hit an all-time high on Tuesday as Wall Street expects sales to increase from new digital ordering kiosks that will replace cashiers in 2,500 restaurants.
Cowen raised its rating on McDonald's shares to outperform from market perform because of the technology upgrades, which are slated for the fast-food chain's restaurants this year.
McDonald's shares rallied 26 percent this year through Monday compared to the S&P 500's 10 percent return.
Andrew Charles from Cowen cited plans for the restaurant chain to roll out mobile ordering across 14,000 U.S. locations by the end of 2017. The technology upgrades, part of what McDonald's calls "Experience of the Future," includes digital ordering kiosks that will be offered in 2,500 restaurants by the end of the year and table delivery.
"MCD is cultivating a digital platform through mobile ordering and Experience of the Future (EOTF), an in-store technological overhaul most conspicuous through kiosk ordering and table delivery," Charles wrote in a note to clients Tuesday. "Our analysis suggests efforts should bear fruit in 2018 with a combined 130 bps [basis points] contribution to U.S. comps [comparable sales]."
He raised his 2018 U.S. same store sales growth estimate for the fast-food chain to 3 percent from 2 percent.
The analyst raised his price target for McDonald's to $180 from $142, representing 17.5 percent upside from Monday's close. He also raised his 2018 earnings-per-share forecast to $6.87 from $6.71 versus the Wall Street consensus of $6.83.

Couldn’t they use her Twitter post against her?
Banks figured this out long ago when they started installing ATM machines. ATM’s are now to the point where tellers will become obsolete very quickly.
Gone will be the days of barcodes. RFID will make it so you can scan an entire basket of goods in 1 second. Your debit card will automatically be scanned and out the door you go.
There will be no checkout personnel, only those that have to stock the shelves. That is until robots take over that job too.
Scary stuff.
There will be no checkout personnel,
******************
Walmart is moving that direction only they don’t have the
scanners to read your items as you walk out the door. But
they are reducing the number of checkouts with a human in
them. They are going to self scan or as they call it “Scan &
Go”. They will take cash or cards but you can’t pay by check.
Be careful, very careful about what you protest for! Got $15.00 minimum wage but no jobs .... only robots.

I will try not to be buying my food their anymore, I will try to shop in people run business only.
“For every one second in average transaction time at the Walmart U.S. chain, the company said it spends about $12 million in cashier wages.”

Gee, who could see that coming.....I demand $20.00 per hour....bye-bye.
[More likely, though, idiots will stand in front of the kiosks and ponder their orders for lengthy amounts of time]
Correct. Just look at anybody at an ATM.
95%+ of the time you’re a) putting money in or b) taking money out (except me, I have no money, LOL).
AAAAAAANNNNDDD if you’ve done it more than about 3 times, ya oughta be an expert at it.
But noooooooooo, they STILL make a career out of it. I just SMH.
Are those immigrant Kiosks? We only want US citizen Kiosks. McDonalds was facing problems finding workers at lower wages now workers are going to have problems finding any jobs at all let alone at the new higher manadated wage.
This is a good example of why import restrictions will not lead to a revival in manufacturing employment in the US. Some jobs do not exist at higher wages because consumers simply will not pay the price. But if it makes financial sense an investment in automation can keep prices somewhat lower. Import restrictions or taxes may lead to higher manufacturering output but it won’t translate into many jobs.
They could but it still isn’t proof that she did it.
However, she is probably mentally-challenged (especially after that message) and doesn’t realize she’ll leave DNA which will prove what she did. And DNA testing is relatively-cheap these days.
1) Track her IP, or offer a reward - she can’t be that hard to find
2) find her employer,
3) get the undercover restaurant people,
4) put her in prison
there are auto door openers. We have touches water and soap, and toilet flushing, need auto door openers.
We get breakfast there quite often....pancakes and I get an egg McMuffin....very tasty.
Offshoring to find the cheapest labor retards industrial automation research and development. Only a Luddite would want open borders and no import tariffs. Higher wages = more automation. Keep the factories here! They still create wealth and jobs even if they are automated. Heck just building them and maintaining them creates domestic jobs.

Correct. I wondered, how did they do the meat? Every package is custom.
It’s the printer. I used to program them on one job with special codes. They’re called Zebra printers (get it? stripes). That particular brand, anyways.
On a lousy job a couple years back, Zebra printer - it does the RFID tag the instant it prints the label. My user told me if it mis-codes the RFID tag, it pulled the label back into the printer and shot it again.
Yeah, they’re here and relatively cheap. That answered the question on the meat packages. No problem at all.
From there, a hop, skip and a jump to 666 where you can’t buy or sell if the PTB have turned off or flagged your debit or credit card. Game over (well, almost).
Those who are authorized to “buy and sell” get the biggest surprise of their lives.
Wait, what if Bruce Caitlyn Gender Bender Jenner is trying to get in!
Yeah that would help a lot.
I don’t know about females (ladies?) but I can tell you about 15 years ago it seemed like 1/2 of the guys went out the door without washing their hands.
Seems like it’s 10%-25% now - maybe it is getting better, dunno.
people used to say thank you when you aid them for something. Now I say thank you and they took at me like what for?
delivering the food can be eliminated. down the shoot to the customer at the counter.
