CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46) - On a day when lawmakers from both sides of the aisle in Washington are asking Americans to unite, a loyal Starbucks customer says she was targeted for supporting Donald Trump. Starbucks said they are making sure this incident won't happen again.
"I don't know what politics has to do with getting a cup of coffee," Kayla Hart said.
Hart walked in to Starbucks on East Boulevard in Dilworth on Wednesday morning, wearing a Donald Trump t-shirt. Instead of being greeted with a smile, Kayla said the cashier laughed and her order was labeled with a political message, mocking her support for the president.
"They shouted out build a wall and shoved a drink at me and then all the barisatas in the back started cracking up laughing," said Hart. photo
The commotion caught the attention of nearby customers.
"I just walked out because everyone was staring," Hart said.
Hart believes she was bullied for wearing her Donald Trump t-shirt. She immediately emailed Starbucks customer service.
"I just found it really sad that I can't wear a t-shirt with our president without being made fun of," Hart said.
FOX 46 Charlotte also reached out to Starbucks to get results. The station received the following response:
"We failed to meet this customer's expectations of us, and we have apologized and are working directly with her to make it right. This experience is not consistent with our standards or the welcoming and respectful experience we aim to provide every customer who visit our stores. We have spoken with our store partners about this situation and are using this as a coaching opportunity for the future," Starbucks said in a statement.
Kayla said she also heard from Starbucks.
"This isn't me trying to get people to stop going to Starbucks. I just want it to be put out there so people know this is what's occurring. I don't think it's right you should be humiliated for wearing a t-shirt with your opinion on it," Hart said.
Hart said she is still waiting to hear from the Starbucks district manager before making a decision if she will return to the coffee shop.
You can say that, again. Chances are those working behind the counter spit in her food or did something worse. Proud of the fact that these feet have never crossed a Starbuck threshold.
>>I would not eat or drink something prepared by someone acting like that.
Exactly.. She probably should have had the coffee tested for adulterants.
I’ve been boycotting them for years. Conservatives need to speak with theo spending power.
:-)
I would have walked out without paying, or if I had already paid, would have dropped the coffee right in the middle of the floor and tell them where to shove their comments.
They probably spit into her coffee. STAY OUT OF THERE! Don’t be a snowflake and complain about bullying. Don’t get mad, just get even.
I’m sorry for you. I lost a couple of longterm friends, but that’s about all.
The divisiveness in America is nothing short of demonic at this point. A civil war is something no one wants to experience if they understand what happens. America was lucky and blessed it recovered from its war. Most countries never rise again.
The left is intent upon a war that is unwinnable for everyone.
I used to buy a lot of Starbucks coffee beans. I didn’t have to go to their stores often because most supermarkets carry them now. Kroger even has a mini Starbucks in their store. A few years ago I went 100% K-cup. I haven’t bought anything from Starbucks in years. I like black strong coffee and have to drink mostly decaf because of heart palpitations that get worse with caffeine. I order Barista Prima Italian Roast decaf from Keurig, and my “real” coffee is Pacific Bold from Costco. And evey cup is fresh.
Me and my friends proudly wear our MAGA shirts around our hometown (Hollywood, CA) Anyone stares or starts throwing hard looks and we confront them. Since they’re pussy hat wearing leftists they slink off. We’re kind of the “not take any shit types”
Her first mistake was going to Starbucks. If she wanted a good cup of coffee, she could have went to any 7-11 or convenience store, paid her dollar, got a good cup of coffee and bought her a steak inner with the difference. But if she wanted that politically crap you get from Starbucks, well you usually get what you wish for.
I’d rather drink cow piss...than Starbucks coffee.
I think I lost one of my dearest friends. I did or said nothing but she knew how I voted and that was enough for her to sever her ties.
Please, elaborate. I'd like to hear your story...
I wish I could join you!! Awesome. I’d even like to run into you guys! I’m a “have to take a lot of sh**” Mommy. Lol. Bravo.
Word would get around quickly.
The first and last time I chose to go to Starbucks, I was bullied (by liberal definition of “bullied”) for ordering a “large coffee”. When asked if I meant a “????? coffee”, I replied “if that’s what you call the biggest you have, then that’s what I want”. The employee went on to lecture me on their menu and various terms they use and how I need to order off their menu. I didn’t care at first and just didn’t hear the words he used (”???? coffee”) so said “biggest” in reply. But at this point I refused to say the correct word and couldn’t get served without doing that. I would have left but was meeting someone who wasn’t there yet. The other person showed up and ordered for both of us.
They'll offer her a Starbucks-logo t shirt and mug.
I stopped when they boasted about their plan to hire 10,000 refugees and got the mantle of “Starburka”.
