FOX News national security expert Catherine Herridge told The Five last night that FBI Director James Comey was fired because he refused to reveal the Obama administration “unmaskers” to President Trump.
The Obama administration spied on and unmasked the identities and conversations of several Americans in 2016 including officials close to President-elect Donald Trump.
There. Fixed it.
That is pure speculation and contrary to the documented recommendations provided by Rosenstein and Sessions.

It wasn’t necessary for the AG and Deputy AG to list all the specific reasons to fire Comey.
Hell, that’d take a 10-15 page letter at least.
They outlined the basics. Trump acted on those basics. And fired Comey.
Now. Now is the time to list and document all the low down criminal actions Comey did and the lawful actions he failed to do.
I hope Sessions files felony charges against him. As well as both Clintons, Lynch, Weiner, Abedin, and of course Obastard.
From my viewpoint, Herridge has consistently had some of the best sources and fact-based reporting.
If Comey was protecting potential criminals by withholding information, his sudden firing (he found out on tv at an event) may have robbed him of the chance to cover his tracks on the way out the door. Perhaps that’s why it was done that way. If he was withholding the information and got wind the ax was falling, he may have “lost” some pertinent info before it happened.
Herridge is generally not a speculator. If this report is true, then she has sources she trusts.
She is a top notch reporter and as you say, not a speculator.
She's actually a first rate investigative reporter... I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss her.
Besides, if this was the reason it would still make more sense for Rosenstein/Sessions to use the "Messed with Hillary's election" excuse as the "official" reason because that excuse pretty much disarms the Dems.
I wouldn't be surprised if Trump finally got his proof that Comey was actively helping Obama and the deep state with the spying on Trump and his people... but Trump can't use that as the reason for firing because Dems would claim he was "interfering in the Russia investigation".
In the area of intelligence (which includes the FBI), Catherine Herridge is non pareil.
The stated reasons in the letter seem phony.

There can be more than public reasons why this firing happened. There had been a concerted effort by the elites to hide the unmaskers and the leakers. It is important to find out who did this and are they still holding power.
They released the recommendations from Sessions and Rosenstein showing the reason why Comey was terminated. The reason was clear and concise. Trying to speculate (which is exactly what she did as she has no actual proof) on some secret reason to his termination is poor journalism. Unnamed sources is what I contribute to either complete and utter BS or leaks, with the latter be the worse.
She’s the best reporter they have on Fox.

I’m not so sure. Listening for just a few minutes yesterday to Mark Levin on radio played audio of Graham questioning NSA director about unmasking. The director explained that they unmask ONLY to the requester. Therefore, it is easy to find out who leaked the info. Sorry about ya Ms Susan Rice!

Absolutely correct.
The FBI with this insane and corrupt bankster at its head had become a complete joke.
He politicized the organization to extent that it was not respected or effective.
Now it’s time to cut down the communists and the jihadists in the government, along with all Democrat party arch criminals still inside.
Gateway Pundit is not above playing fast and loose with facts. Has anyone watched the interview in context?
Herridge does not seem to have cited such a reason in any other medium.
It seems that perhaps Comey, Lynch and Clinton are still very much under investigation.
