Late night talk show host Stephen Colbert's controversial joke about President Trump drew the attention of the Federal Communications Commission. The agency received "a number" of complaints about Colbert's commentary earlier in the week, according to the FCC's chief. FCC Chairman Ajit Pai promised to "take the appropriate action" following a comprehensive investigation of Colbert's remarks. The FCC's response will depend on whether Colbert's remarks are considered "obscene."

There is a viciousness about Colbert that makes my skin crawl.
I stopped going to Walgreens years ago when a pharmacist violated my Hipaa rights by getting real loud about a prescription that my doctor wrote in front of five people standing there. She even had the nerve to actually call my doctor who said it was between patient and physician.
FYI: I had fallen off my roof while blowing leaves out of my gutter and blown out my knee and ankle. I was a mess but no broken bones.
I have been boycotting Walgreens ever since. The problem is that Walgreens pharmacies as a whole makes a crack dealer look like they have morals. They are by far the largest purchasers of pharmaceuticals there is. They can actually control the cost of most drugs.
I had a family member who had a simple ear infection. They priced the ear drops at Walgreens - close to $80. I priced the SAME EXACT drops at Costco - $6. While you wont likely die from an ear infection my entire family thought that an $75 mark up was outrageous. There is nobody in my immediate family who will buy a thing at Walgreens. Yet they just keep popping up. Walgreens does not read their mail, they don’t even have common sense.
Living in Chicagoland there is a VERY exclusive suburb named Lake Forest. The Ex-wife of Walgreens heir Charles R. Walgreen decided she was going to keep pigs on her 3.3 million dollar parcel. This didn’t make for happy neighbors who are pretty affluent. The next door neighbor was a surgeon who had saved for years to live there. They sued with a 300 signature petition and Lake Forest passed an ordinance. The Ex-wife moved because she no longer had Walgreens cash being driven in by the truckload.
My moral is: Boycotting Colberts sponsors wont make one bit of difference. The best way to deal with Colbert is to not watch him. He isn’t funny, it’s the same late night crap over and over. Vote with your cable box if you still have one. Believe me, the big cable companies know what’s being watched and what’s not. Fining him just gives attention to a dying show. The last thing I want to do is give him any attention. Let him fade away into obscurity.
Out of sight, out of mind.
We don't see the cruel inhuman Muslims behead people because it upsets us. Chainsaw beheading.
Do you know why Ike forced the townspeople to go to the death camps and clean them up?
Because while it was happening they didn't see it because it upset them.
If we just ignore him he will go away right? Most mush headed kids get their news from this guy, he isnt going away.
Do you know a conservative comedian?
Colberts departure also reminds us how hollow conservative comedic efforts have been, as they fail to play catch-up in the cultural war of political satire. Humor remains a rhetorical weapon that American conservatives simply cannot harness.
Conservatives just arent funny: Why the right will never have its own Stephen Colbert
Anyone here watch any late night tv shows? Didnt think so.
I’m with you on this one. Colbert is very funny and has been winning hearts and minds for the left for a decade now. His lampooning of conservatives is a morale boost for liberals. He validates their worldview in a highly visible way and they love him for it. Maybe one of these days we’ll close the arts and culture gap with the left. It is truly puzzling to me this massive asymmetry when it comes to culture.
Profound but SIMPLE advice.
Those that can't do it are the same ones who cannot stop their excessive drinking, smoking, and gambling.
The boob tube content supplied by the MSM, along with the massive amount of innocuous, mindless cable channels were addressed decades ago when Marshall McLuhan said.. "We shape our tools and thereafter our tools shape us."
I loved him in the Comedy Central show Stragers With Candy. I guess he had to go far left to rise to the top.
I would think it would be obvious to speak to the Store manager, or find an online source to go higher up the chain.
People have been fired for far less. And what about the sponsors? If Hannity had said this about Obama, MSM would have had a meltdown. Years ago Ann Coulter made a minor innuendo about John Edwards - and MSM complained about it 24/7 for a long time.
Love it when the Left eat their own.
What’s TV? Some 20th Century gadget like a buckboard or a horse-drawn carriage?
“Conservatives just arent funny: Why the right will never have its own Stephen Colbert”
What are they talking about. Colbert isn’t funny at all.
Humor must contain a grain of truth. People only think he’s funny if they believe the same rotten crap he believes.
The Blue Collar comedy folks were funny, but Colbert’s fans don’t think so because they don’t recognize the truth in their material.
Rush Limbaugh is funny as hell whenever he cares to be. Latma TV was a funny right-wing Israeli show, now on the air as We’re The Judge, but not as funny. We get the last laugh, so we laugh best.
The standard is obscene, not offensive ... and obscene it was.
PETITION: 100,000 Signatures To Fire Stephen Colbert!

yep. these threads invariably become “I cut the cable, and am morally superior for it” parades. I have no idea why people think I will be impressed by their utility bills — or lack thereof.
That's exactly what I was referring to. Boycott? Fine, but there's no need to go off on the lowest level workers. It just makes the person who is ranting look like the ass he is. Go off on the manager, fine. Tell off the customer service or marketing people, knock yourself out. Maybe it will make a difference collectively.
But going off on a retail employee in a local store is pretty much the definition of being a coward. Lashing out at someone who cannot even argue with you without risk of being fired. How brave!
