(WASHINGTON) -- Nine high-ranking U.S. Navy officers, including one former admiral, have been charged with trading classified information in exchange for travel, dinner and prostitution services from a foreign defense contractor -- the latest charges in the widening probe, according to the Justice Department.

According to the Justice Department, the Navy officials allegedly took in expensive travel and entertainment expenses as well as prostitution services while steering contracts toward the company, Glenn Defense Marine Asia (GDMA), and blocking its competitors.

They allegedly used fake names and foreign email address to keep their actions secret.

"...one of the responsibilities of a journalist is to get it right, absolutely right, every time."

"Its been a very long time since that was the case.

"Yellow" journalism has VERY old roots — like 1895 old. Here's a snip of historical reference: "Experts generally attribute the beginning of yellow journalism to William Randolph Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer."

IOW, the rabbit hole goes a VERY long ways down.

I just fell over. When my ship pulled into HGKG Harbor in 1955, there actually were several little “boats” waiting for us. I asked a Bosun’Mate what they were doing, and he told me ,”Those belong to Mary Sue and her side cleaners. They seem to know we’re coming.”
Before we left, they had actually painted over some “ugly spots” on our hull, using rollers with the LONGEST handles I’ve ever seen.

Don’t forget Clinton selling missile guidance technology to the Chicoms. This goes back a long time at that level.

FLASHBACK: BILL CLINTON GAVE CHINA MISSILE TECHNOLOGY
Democrats intermittently talk tough about our enemies — but only after aiding and comforting them.

Yeah, and if you’ve ever spent any appreciable amount of time around Coronado you’ll fully understand why. The place is beautiful, and the weather is great 95% of the time. I’d retire there, too.

"I’m so ashamed of these people...I can’t hardly stand it."

Indeed. Among the first busted in this case, along with "Fat Leonard", was a man I served with. I knew his wife and kids, he knew mine. Seemed like a decent family man and it's still hard to imagine him doing this crap. Smart guy too. Had a successful CO tour and was selected for O-6. Now he's in jail. Career and family destroyed, friends lost, honor lost.

Investigations on any and everybody have been going on for ten years. What’s new with today is actual arrests. Only enemies of zero have done any jail time.

lack of discipline, morals and ethics across the military... this is the result of eight years of leftist control of the military

Correct and they see that the higher ups, CIC and SoS can get by with anything without charges even filed on them so what the heck, game on.

And when President Trump announced that he would NOT pursue charges against Her Thighness, well it was like double downing for these criminals and traitors. They were given the green flag to keep on doing what they have been doing.

Not arresting her is a YUGE mistake and a broken promise on his part. Kind of like this health care bit and watch and see how the immigration goes down. Will be another broken promise

“With all respects, this seems a little strange: They were arrested in multiple state THIS morning, across country, and half have already pleaded guilty?????? I doubt even arraignments on 10% have been conducted at this point!”

Indeed.

carelessly inaccurate fake news media bloggers is the problem: many of the “25” arrested were arrested some time ago and original media bloggers couldn’t be bothered with details and all the mini-media picked up their BS.

The full story is here:

“The new indictment brings the number of people charged with crimes in the Fat Leonard investigation to 27. Ten current and former Navy officials have pleaded guilty so far.”

“Prosecutors say the case is still unfolding and that more than 200 people have come under scrutiny.”

https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/admiral-seven-others-charged-with-corruption-in-new-fat-leonard-indictment/2017/03/14/faf01600-08da-11e7-b77c-0047d15a24e0_story.html

Note that MANY more could be arrested and tried in the future.

Obama totally corrupted our military.

That must have been quite a sight when the retired Naval admiral was arrested at his home in tony Coronado, California. That place is full of retired admirals.

My favorite description of Coronado was that it is a place where retired Admirals live with their parents. :)

The evidence, apparently, with “Fat Leonard’s” photographic help... is overwhelming. Defense Finance Admin, disbursements and dates of “services” and re-direction of naval assets coincide with the individuals. And... there is Naval Intelligence and.... the good ole signals intelligence they monitor. Office of Naval Intelligence and CSI Navy. What these clowns did was hard to believe they thought they could get away with... except the obamaumao corruption from a muzzie contractor may very well have been .... overlooked for other reasons, which hopefully the guilty pleaders will “turn” and give testimony. Tip of the iceberg on our readiness.

Here’s the history on ole “Fat Leonard” which names names and is quite specific— this today is at the end of stuff that has been in investigation and conviction since at least 2013.

The rot in the military is self-generated and non-partisan. The cause is careerism and a system that rewards kneepads more than competence.

“That must have been quite a sight when the retired Naval admiral was arrested at his home in tony Coronado, California.”

In another life I was a Navy Wife. On days when I needed the car, I’d drop H off at the base, driving through Coronado on the way in and out.

Man, Oh, Man! What LUXURY! I drooled over those homes, figuring I’d never live there, let alone be allowed inside for any reason!

By contrast, we were living in a dump of a studio apartment in Imperial Beach, a few miles from Tijuana, LOL!

this really has less to do with Obama and more to do with basic ordinary corruption regardless of which flavor administration is in charge. Some were charged and sentenced by *gasp* the last admin.

LOL! Well, at least you got to enjoy the same weather, and most all of the beaches are nice.

Every time I’ve been to San Diego I’ve loved it; Convention Center, old town, La Jolla, Point Loma — it’s just a nice locale.
