FACT: ObamaCare was passed, using the original legislative vehicle, at 1:38am on 12/23/09 with 60 votes in the Senate. The House then approved that Senate Bill without changes; and in February 2010 created a secondary bill which created the opportunity for the Senate to modify ObamaCare using reconciliation for a lower vote threshold of 51 votes.
[Understand the full construct by reading HERE] If you do not understand how legislation is created; if you do not understand the difference between the Senate and House; if you do not understand the way ObamaCare was created, you really need to read this first.
A clean repeal bill, meaning a law to repeal the entire ObamaCare construct only, would require another 60 vote hurdle in the Senate.
Republicans, while in the majority, only control 52 seats. Without 8 Democrats voting to approve a repeal bill, any House (Or Senate) bill that repeals ObamaCare cannot pass the Senate.
This is why Mark Levin is a con-man; selling snake oil as outrage to keep a listening audience angry, yet clueless and hopeless. Thats what I dont like.
A complete repeal of ObamaCare is currently impossible. The House Freedom Caucus can push all the repeal bills they want, but they cannot get a repeal bill through the Senate because they cannot get the 60 votes needed. Period.
A complete independent repeal bill of ObamaCare is currently impossible.

Opposition in his own party. Mitch the Bitch and Ly’n Ryan.
McQueeg and MsLindaMcQueeg.
Don’t worry. They are being taken care of. All hell rained down on the intel community today. It is early in the week. More to come soon.
Exactly. We need more “reality” around here.
BS, how did they put a bill to repeal it multiple times that Obama vetoed.
Absolutely bs
Exactly. First they said January 27, then March, now 2018.
Romney was going to EXEMPT all Americans via 1 executive order. This can be done! Do it! There were hundreds of companies and liberal groups exempted by Obama. Just do it!!
This is precisely why you do not put the likes of politicians in charge of keeping you alive.
They. Can’t. Do. Anything. Right.
Get these mother f***in’ useless a**holes out of my health care, and don’t ever come back.
Freedom caucus needs to add an amendment putting all federal employees including Congress, their aides, and judges in whatever form of 0bamacare remains.
I stole it from Sundance. It was at the link early in his latest article, but not every Freeper takes the effort to follow the links.
Ping for later reading.
I believe this is called trying to get the toothpaste back in the tube.
Stop right their. We are being bleeping played again.
* 1st it was give us the House, we can't do anything.
* Then it was give us the Senate we can't do anything.
* Then give 1600 Ave, we can't do anything....
Now you want 60 in the Senate for real Reform? So it this a ploy to get us to donate more in 18' so you can have total control?...
Seriously Paul and Mitch? take a hike...
See 41. I did not post because I agreed, I posted since we should know. My parenthed comments are a summary of the article
Name calling - you’ve got nothing.
Ding ding ding.
Yeah, and his supporters obviously took it that Obamacare wouldn't get replaced with s--tty RyanCare either. No thanks. Trump better have something up his sleeve on this.
The only guy saying repeal every word was Cruz and he lost.
That is a non-sequitur. The fact is that the base has been wanting Obamacare repealed since it was signed into law in 2010. I want Obamacare COMPLETELY REPEALED. That's the problem with the RINOs, they want to "conservatize" every leftist program. It goes back to the Rockefeller Republicans who think they can manage leftist programs better than the Democrats.
So the debate about whether there should be a national healthcare progrem and whether its constitutional is over. We lost those battles
Bull. We need to have this debate. Should the Feds have any involvement in people's healthcare? My answer is no, except of course military veterans, federal workers, and existing seniors and the poor on Medicare/Medicaid.
Republicans didn't vote for Obamacare; they're not obligated to replace it either. Not their problem.
Democrats are never going to pass a bill to kill Obamacare outright.
Of course, you can abolish the filibuster and the 60 vote threshold to pass non-budget legislation.
Then the Senate becomes exactly like the House. Sure, the GOP can do that unilaterally but as Harry Reid discovered to his regret, when you’re in the minority, you lose leverage.
Do Republicans really want to find themselves a powerless minority one day and is passing a complete repeal bill worth the cost?
We can do what you want by instituting pure majority rule in the Senate. That’s how the House is run.
If we abolish minority safeguards, we’re in uncharted waters. The Senate’s function as a “cooling saucer” for House legislation would be gone forever.
Like I said, if its that important, do it - but weigh carefully the consequences beforehand.
