Its pretty gross but very effective.
Recently, a HuffPo contributor found out that her background wasnt 100% African American like she thought.
Turns out she is part white.
Cue the meltdown
You see, her whole life, Chistine Michel Carter had been told that she was Black and Native American, so when she found out that her Native American heritage negligible, she was pretty confused. Further complicating matters was the fact that the DNA test also told her that she was 31.5% European, which Carter said made her feel shame and disorient.
Of all the emotions which materialized from the results, the two strongest were disorient and shame. I thought the results would simply confirm what I was told by my family; instead they discredited their allegations, she wrote.
Addressing her feelings of shame, Carter explains that she believes her family went out of their way to cover up their white roots out of embarrassment.

I just chuckle at the part of her post where she declares herself to be a marketing expert, when in reality she has a pretty thin marketing background. You can see her LinkedIn profile here:

Lots of jargon and puffery on the page, but basically she’s a digital marketer, which any brand marketer will tell you is like a plumber calling himself a civil engineer. Yeah, she’s part of the brand team, but she’s not the brand lead. She also litters her profile with click bait for SE software that HR uses, i.e.:
“Manage business updates and reports for the Global Consumer Council, including the President of McCormick North America. Develop go-to-market strategies and other projects directly for the Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Development.”
By doing this, recruiters using LinkedIn to search for candidates for a senior VP marketing role may get her name in search results, simply because she name drops about who she sends a report to...
I find this a lot in the world of marketing that I work in, especially where millennials are involved. They spend as much of the (company’s) time marketing themselves as they do the product they’re supposed to support.
They have a short attention span and all want to be VP’s by age 35. What’s really funny is how she peppers youth-like references throughout her profile, so she can be hip and trendy. Thing is, once millennials become the yesterday’s news generation in about 5 years, being labeled a millennial will become passé. By the early 2020’s, millennials will just be overpaid, under-skilled VP wannabes. By the time they are all in their late 40’s, they’ll be hiding their age just like everyone else, hoping to avoid ageism and getting laid off.
He is actually more culturally white than black, having been raised by whites in exclusively privileged white environs.
I postulate that her lily white great-great-grandma was raped by a black man and the child was put in care. As an adult, great-grandma self identified as a Negro and the story begins.
Obama was the son of Frank Marshall Davis. His mother was a one and done groupie for the commie bastard.
‘High yellow’ blacks have always constituted a kind of upper class of blacks in America. The Jesse Jackson family and the Bowman family of Valerie Jarrett are examples.
Back when they were Negros, some Negro clubs and even potential marriage mates had a skin shade qualification test with darker shades kept out.
I can’t find the video, but there was a hillarious skit from SNL with Julian talking about how lighter-skinned blacks were smarter than darker-skinned blacks. Later on Julian disavowed the skit, but I do think that in general, lighter-skinned blacks really do think this way.

There is only one way out of her shame and mortification.
Please.
Someone point her to a pistol.

Pretty, for whatever bearing that has on anything.
LOLOL!
Post of the day.
I’m guessing it sailed right past most of the youngin’s and Yankees.
OMG! Writer discovers she is only 69.5% victim!
My dad always made crap out of the French, though it was (mostly) an act. When he was in his sixties, I found out that he had ancestors from Alsace/Elsass whose "Frenchness" or "German-ness" was undeterminable. He laughed and delivered a neat bit of improv mock disappointment. He always claimed to be a genetic "mutt," and the news suited him fine.
FWIW, one of his female ancestors was supposedly all or half Native American, which I believe by Lizzie Warren's "one- or no-drop rule" makes me a fellow Indian.

She couldn’t tell that she was part white? She looks like every biracial African and white person that I know.
Where did she think “paper bag” blacks got their lack of color?
your skin color, your race, does not dictate who you are... if it does you are lost...
I am a child of the living God... made to know and love Him who created me... to walk humbly, show mercy, have integrity, stand for justice, love my neighbor... and love God above all things....
If that should change because of my outward appearance... than I really have no core values that define me... as me....
IMHO...
I did Ancestry DNA, and have found a few high match 4th cousins who have majority African ethnicity. That means somewhere back before the civil war, we have a common ancestor. These cousins are on both my mom and dad’s side.
One thing I have learned that is not known by most Americans, especially blacks, is that not all of the children were born from master/slave relationships. Some of them were white servant/black slave relationships and marriages!
She might have found out that she was related to a blogger named "Gooch."
(She would then be reduced to muttering to herself all day in a sort of "Grundle Grumble.")
She should take some solace and pride in the fact that in 1860 her Northern White relatives voted for candidates who wanted to free the Black slaves and then died by the hundreds of thousands in the war to free them..... it was an ultimate act of exercising their White Privilege.
Some people make me sick.
Almost all blacks in the U.S.A. who believe they are part “Native American” (usually they say Cherokee) are actually part white (usually Irish).
Their ancestors lied to them.
The STUPID is strong in this one:
“Irritation led to feeling disoriented again; perhaps because they havent received scientific proof regarding the matter they cant understand my feeling lost and misguided. It can remain a theory for the rest of my family, but as someone who has become a Black millennial marketing expert this s*** matters. Its as if Ive obscured the one thing which has guided me since I was nine years old my heritage. Even back then I believed in Black power, creating drawings in art class titled A Strong Black Nation, featuring black construction paper hands reaching for the sky. Along with being a millennial and being a woman, being Black enlivens me. Im personally and professionally compelled to clarify misconceptions and elevate all three of my squads. As inappropriate (but honest) as it sounds, Id discovered I had the so-called superior race running through my veins, and never before had I felt so inferior.”
