Crowds of people gathered on Wednesday night to protest against an off-duty cop who was caught on camera pulling and firing his gun as he scuffled with a 13-year-old outside his home in Anaheim, California.
The protests were sparked after a video that was filmed on Tuesday afternoon emerged showing the confrontation between the off-duty LAPD cop and a large gang of teens who he had apparently accused of walking on his lawn.
The confrontation ends with the officer pulling his gun out and firing a shot that did not hit anyone as the teens flee.
Before that, the officer was filmed struggling with one teen who he accused of threatening to shoot him, then scuffling with the entire group of teens outside his home. ok

He had been trying to get the teens to quit walking across his lawn for months. He confronted them, one threatened him and it was on. He was in danger of being overwhelmed as a large number of them began to surround him. Another video shows him being shoved over a hedge. His life was potentially in danger, especially if the teens began to jump him and one would have taken his gun from him. Mob mentality. The one shot settled everyone down and ended the conflict.
There are multiple videos of the incident on Youtube (i.e. videos shot by different teens at the same time). In one of the videos, the 13 year old claims his father is a police officer. The off-duty officer says that he didn’t care and would be happy to tell the kid’s dad to his face (about exactly what I don’t know, but I assume it is about how the kid was acting). I really don’t think the kid’s father was a cop.
It was amusing to watch the kids all run when the shot was fired.
The officer was assaulted multiple times. You can see the kids getting ready to assault him.
SSS
Every where else that is assault, except in CA where not allowing thugs to let off steam at your expense is racist, worse pulling a gun is the height of evil, worse when a cop does it - on or off duty.
How soon is the 9.2 quake suppose to hit CA?
Looks like a citizens arrest to me. He was defiantly able to effect the arrest until the uniformed authorities arrived.
Two or three dead kids would have been justified.
Just ask LaVoy Finicum.
And this is how you know Limbaugh has no DREAMERS in his neighborhood.
This is really close to me the kids cut across his yard a bit tore up some plantings he has asked them to knock it off and it got heated this time these hoards of kids high school most likely are like marauders here in fact a family owed and operated liqueur store nice Vietnamese family close for an hour for lunch when the high school gets out just so the don’t get shop lifted Kids today have zero respect for people and property When these cops tell you its a war out there believe them
I
End of story.
Towards the end the kid in the maroon shirt is reaching for something in his back pocket, a knife? Hoodies and yutes, never a good combo.
Why are they walking on his yard if there is a sidewalk, albeit narrow? Is he overreacting because some are on the sidewalk putting a foot in his yard? Did he call the police to complain?
If the kid getting dragged, his mother who arranged the protest, is illegal—remove her. It looks like she raised a fine anchor.
The thug kids get ZERO sympathy from me.
The problem is that thanks to liberalism, people have NO respect for personal property rights any longer. Same thugs who stomp on cars at their “peaceful” protests, or block streets.
I know what Obama and his admin would say. Praise the Lord that I don’t have to hear it.
Or “S3”. Don’t waste “s”es. ;-)
P.S. Did that guy look like Rick Harrison from Pawn Stars?
He was surround by hostiles, they had already put their hands on him and were behaving in a very threatening manner. He would have been justified in shooting at least two of them so his response was very restrained indeed.
And it’s a war where they cops are the only side who have to watch their step because of PC. The lowest expectations for the thugs.
Every one there who impeded the off duty cop is eligible for jail time and a couple are guilty of serious assault and battery.
lawn trespass is not the issue, the kid's threat is.
His yard had a FENCE. The kids were inside his FENCE.
They were not just innocently shortcutting across his yard.
The one kid shoved him into a hedge, he grabbed that kid by the shirt collar, the others ganged him. Another claimed to have a gun, threatened cop. That’s when he drew his weapon.
Media, as usual, portraying this as poor innocent children, psycho cop. Even saying he dragged a bunch of kids into the hedge.
Dad hollering his kid is bruised.
Huh. Lucky his kid’s not in the morgue.
If that were my kid, he’d be bruised, too-—by me.
He acted much more calmly than I would have. There would be a bunch of dead teenagers with a less controlled victim.
Don’t know LAPD’s policy for use of force (force continuum) or level of hand to hand training, but the moment the lad who was standup grappling with the office touched the officer, he should have been down on the ground out of the fight (waiting for an ambulance and his assault charges). The little pr1k, who ran in under the line of sight shadow his bigger buddy, should have collected a face full of shoe, and another assault charge. Since the video is out there, it should be like opra.....you get a charge and you get a charge and you get charge.....
Kids THINK they can get away with junk like that because they are kids, and grownups are no longer respected or expected to respond with measured physical kinetic correction.
Maybe the Clint Estwood response (Garand in hand, “get off my lawn”) would have been better, but in lousy kalifornistan, the officer would have been taken to jail immediately.
.02, YMMV
