Senators Silent After Meeting With FBI Director Comey

Not much can get between senators and a recess. Except, perhaps, FBI Director James B. Comey.

Members of the Senate Intelligence Committee, along with ex-officio member and Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer, huddled for a total of more than two hours on Friday with Comey.

The FBI director’s visit was not announced publicly, and it’s possible members of the Capitol Hill press corps only found out because he was spotted in the hallways and entered a secure room used for intelligence briefings.

But leaving that secure room in the Capitol Visitor Center, senators declined to even confirm the presence of the FBI director, much less the substance of the meeting. Those who did talk generally only gave “no comments” or referred questions to Intelligence Chairman Richard M. Burr and ranking member Mark Warner.

CNN reports that the committee did x? How did CNN find out? Did someone speak to the press? Are 2 things now known: Rubio tweets that FBI will investigate Trump/Flynn/Russia and Warner evokes comparison of Flynngate to Watergate? This is the Clinton narrative of how to impeach Trump.

Or am I reading to much into this?

Another good story, Dave. Now I've got one for you.

I was a Navy Lt. assigned to the Marines as a Naval Gunfire Liaison Officer back in the late 70s. And I went on a deployment to WestPac aboard the USS Okinawa (a helicopter carrier) where I was operating with a Marine regiment out of Kaneohe, HI.

So I was living aboard ship in a small officer's cabin with 3 other guys, two Marine Captains, a Navy doctor, and myself.

And I had great conversations with one of those Marine Captains and we became friends for 3 months aboard ship, had meals together and so forth.

So 35 years later I'm reading a Free Republic comment about a Marine Corps General who was highly respected and somebody said Trump should hire.

I saw the picture of the guy and instantly recognized it to the face of our soon to be elevated Secretary of Defense, Jim Mattis. Never had any contact with Jim since our deployment, and I got out the Navy 3 years later, but I can tell you that you will never meet a better gentleman nor caring/dedicated man.

So it shows you how given average training and desire, a man or woman of great dedication and merit can rise to the highest level in this country.

Good layout of facts. I have been wondering why Mclame was sent with Pence - knowing he wasn’t there to ‘help’ the U.S.A. in any way.

Good possibility. There’s an International Police action - operation spade-has arrested a number of traffickers over the years.

Flynn shut down the Venezuelan Drug trafficking (VP there involved IIRC) through the US Treasury. Probably also has a list of those who may be compromised with Pedo gate. Possible that he was discussing rolling up the Pedo in their countries or something.

Trump did sign some sort of anti-trafficking stuff the other day, but I don’t have the specifics.

I’m not sure about Comey. Go back about 30 years, and he was involved with the case against Mark Rich-Rudy brought the case and Rich was convicted. Bill Clinton pardoned him at the last minute - HRC worked almost exclusively on that.

A good portion of the CIA works with Clintons ie their drug trafficking etc. as a way to get money. CIA works with the FBI especially with Joint Terrorism Task Forces. I’m going to reserve judgement on Comey, since Trump left him in.

The Generals and especially those involved at any point with military intelligence know exactly what has been going on, and they are done with it-time to clean house, and probably helped convince Trump to run.
