[history]
The California Department of Water Resources issued a sudden evacuation order shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday for residents near the Oroville Dam in northern California, warning that the dams emergency spillway would fail in the next 60 minutes.
The Oroville Dam is the highest in the nation.

I’m ready to call false flag on this ‘apparent’ incompetency. Trump should send the entire Army Corps of Engineers, every piece of John Deere equipment West of the Rockies, every search & rescue unit available, but not a dime of cash for Moonbeam to blow on trains.

We should hope not; Beale is not only home for the Air Force’s U-2 fleet, it also hosts an intelligence group that plays a key role in analyzing info collected by U-2, Global Hawk and Predator/Reaper missions around the world.
While the analysis role could be shifted to other intel groups (all part of the 480th Intelligence Wing at Langley AFB, VA), potential flooding would force relocation of U-2 operations—and not all of the logistics stockpiles, maintenance facilities and support equipment could be quickly moved. If the base flooded, some of those resources would be lost, and operations would be disrupted.
Langley experienced minor/moderate flooding during a Category I hurricane about 14 years ago. The base suffered $250 million in damage.

Thanks for the videos and commentary today. I am so very sorry for the downstream residents as well as the valiant engineers and crews who are fighting against all hope. But I have zero sympathy for Calif. residents who have voted for the politicians who favored environmentalism over reason and truth! All of California was within earshot of KGO’s brilliant scientist Dr. Bill Wattenberg. The entire Western seaboard could hear his talkshow on 50k watt San Francisco KGO.. He educated the willing to listen common man about these manmade disasters.

My worry is that if Orville Dam fails we could have a huge wall of water going down the Feather River watershed. Not only will Oroville and Gridley be wiped out, but it could wipe out Marysville and Yuba City downstream and could literally overwhelm the Sutter and Yolo Bypasses, which are already heavily underwater anyway--in short, the long Interstate 5 and 80 viaducts are under threat. And it would threaten Knights Landing, West Sacramento, Woodland, Davis and even Dixon.

I’ve drive by Beale AFB. Fortunately, most of the important facilities there are located on higher ground, and PAVE PAWS radar installation is not under threat because that’s built up on a hill.

Listen to TigerClaws. He is right. Expect to evacuate.
I lived through the Los Angeles Baldwin Hills dam break in the 60’s. There is no safe place when mud and water flood the hills and valleys. Like tornadoes and hurricanes and fires, the path can be random.
If you live in the flood zone, be prepared for the worst and hope for the best.

I’m sure Jerry Brown has the school buses lined up ready to take everyone to safety.

Is it possible this is political retaliation.. your red area’s reps/sens were being denied maintenance money by moonbeam who never bothered reading the engineering reports?

That would explain the weirdness of this... there are pleadings for maintenance money for the dam that were deferred by moonbeam.
Nothing else makes any sense. There might be impeachment material here for CA rats.

I have a little place on a big lake. It is about 2 million acre/feet not 3.5 million acre/feet.
It has big flood gates on its 1931 damn.
When they have to be opened they look like this:

That one flood gate and flume on that big lake looks like it was thought that global warming was going to never let the lake fill to full and be threatened.

If I had to guess, I would guess we make it through tonight and then a false sense of security begins until the next two days pass and the new rain runoff begins. Then...
