The Oroville Dam is the highest in the nation.
Sent to Drudge.
The live cam has been turned off.
I’ve been watching this sucker for the last couple days. This may develop into a worst case scenario.

Live news bulletins about imminent dam failure, are usually not a plug for The Adventures of Dudley Do-Right vs. Snidely Whiplash...
That being said, links with additional information *are* welcome.
The pic at #60 shows the earth being washed away between the spillway and the dam.
Not good.
They pulled that LinkedIn article right out from under me, too.
That picture doesn’t tell the whole story. The ground around the spillway is severely eroded, and that erosion is growing. If it either undermines the ground behind the spillway, or undermines the dam itself (less likely), then there will be little left to hold back the lake. The land will give way and the water will come FAST!
Good advice, but omenous!
>THIS IS NOT A DRILL. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. REPEAT THIS IS NOT A DRILL.
It’s the idiocy and ignorance of democrat party in control of infrastructure. They will save one guilty islamo or illegal at the cost of many real Americans.
democrat party and leftist scum needs to feel the pain instead.
The Aux spillway started operating at about 8am yesterday. Peak depth of lake was reached last night, and it’s down a bit from that now. Inflow is way down from where it was in the last two days, so what they need to do is draw about another foot of water out of the lake and it’ll stop flowing over the aux spillway. The problem is that the only way to accomplish that is to increase flow through the main spillway, which is where the original problem is located. They’d cut back flow there yesterday because of the increase in size of the sinkhole in the waterway. Cranking it up to 100,000 is going to cause that thing to break up at a rapid rate, but with the alternative being unlimited flow, that’s what they “gotta do”. Time for some breath holding through the night now.

Problem with Oroville Dams emergency spillway..lower sections of the city just ordered to evacuate
Didn’t Governor Moonbeam just IMPLORE President Trump to pony up some cash for some flooding in his state?
Whose to say that this additional ‘disaster’ isn’t man-made? I mean, he’s a YUGE proponent of the Global Warming SCAM. If man causes it, then all bets are OFF!
FUJB! (FU Jerry Brown!)
Thanks. Looks a lot like our Lake Travis in design.
You know, the not so funny “funny thing” is that the newspapers here recently have had headlines saying: “State Inches It’s Way Out of the Drought!” And this is being written as Brown seeks Federal Flood Relief funds from Washington. The ground around our home is so saturated that the least amount of rain results in all or it running off. We are in the East Bay where it is relatively flat and close to the Pacific Ocean. Water from Oroville has hundreds of miles to go to get to SF Bay, and severe flooding would ruin some of the most productive agricultural land in the country.

Here is another video showing the main spillway with the dam in the background. From other photos I’ve seen it looked like the spillway was on rock. This video shows part of it is, but it looks like a lot of soil/weak rock is being washed away between the spillway and the toe of the dam.
If too much material gets washed out below the toe, the dam could go. Yeouch.
**When California gets ONE drop of rain TOO MUCH, they weatherwitcheswarlocks bring out the "flood" CDs.
I'm trying to figure out what Certificates of Deposit have to do with weather conditions.
It’s going to cut the mountain in half.
