Sometimes your best friends can inadvertently become your worst enemies. Such was the case of Hillary Clinton and the mainstream media according to Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight. Most observant people knew that the MSM was all in for Hillary this past election to the extent of acting like cheerleaders for her. So instead of cautioning Hillary when Donald Trump made exactly the right moves to win the necessary electoral votes for victory, they instead mocked him for his ignorance of political campaigning. As a result this gave the Hillary campaign a false sense of security when they should have campaigned more extensively in the previous "blue wall" states of Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.

It's called "BLOWING" it.
They’re still trying to deflect the real source of the problem, the CANDIDATE!
I waited hours in a cold dark fairground in va on a Sunday night. He was three hours late. The place was packed he took the stage after midnight. That was part of his marathon weekend before the election. I got home at 3:00am. There were people who drove from neighboring states. No telling when they got home. Somehow with all the media there that night it never was reported.
Personally, I blame the pickles!
Yeah they cancelled the rally in WI and instead went to MI because their data showed that WI was now safe and a sure thing; they ran the #’s and even they couldn’t believe it but when they ran them again it was true. I remember here a lot of folks were panicked, thinking that meant WI was lost and that’s why Trump was headed for MI, to try to make up for it, and how futile it all was. But he went to MI cause they knew they could, and would, take it.
Your Silver ware is tarnished, HIllaryous Rotten Criminal. Get lost Gnat.
Apparently, Hillary and her campaign were confident and smug enough, that they stopped doing their own internal polling for like a week before Election Day, and instead relied entirely on the media/public polls. Big mistake!
Worse, they had all her followers believing she would win and they still haven’t gotten over the shock of her losing, and the kookiest among them continues to protest and riot to this day. Had they had any sense that she might lose, I think the situation of anger and hostility would not be what it is today.
Well, if you discount the several million illegitimate votes....HE DID.
My theory is the 'fix was in' or was suppose to be - in places like PA with "Ed" Rendell knowing stings to pull. With polling missing the 'hidden' Trump vote, the 'fix' didn't take.
Nate is having difficulty accepting his new-found irrelevance.....
Ooh, ooh - that's some of the best written porn I've ever read - say it again! Say it again!
:-)
I agree with your assessment. The one interesting idea I took out of the article was ... on one hand, Trump campaign could do nothing right, according to MSM, so they didn’t care where they campaigned, they knew the NYT would say it was wrong, stupid and showed their campaign was doomed.
On the other hand, because Clinton campaign wanted and enjoyed their slavish media support, they tended not to go into (or campaign or rally) in states that would have raised “uh-ohs” by the media. States such as Wi, Pa, Iowa, Mi, etc. Obviously states that turned everything around for Trump. So in a bizarre, non-intuitive way, the media made it easier for Trump to do whatever he thought he needed to do, while restricting Hillary to stay out of the questionable states.
Also, in a general way the MSM hurt Hillary on election night, I believe, because or their over the top fake polling that showed Hillary with 5 or 8 or 12 point leads nationally and similar leads in most battlegrounds. I believe many Hillary supporters, and Hillary leaners (same people now rioting in streets) didn’t bother to vote, because Hillary had it “in the bag.”
All losses all failures all shortfalls can be easily explained on natie’s fantasy Island. How about this: People where and are sick of socialism and Trump was never actually behind except in the minds of those who hate and fear him - who by the way were very right about fearing him.
First election in Wisconsin requiring photo IDWow. Somehow I had missed that fact. It seems to have made a big difference.
I remember Soros saying Hillary would win but that Trump might win the popular vote.
