Amazon.com Inc. Chief Executive Jeff Bezos said the e-commerce giant is working with lawmakers and state officials to explore legal options to counter President Donald Trump’s executive order on immigration.
In an email to staff Monday, Mr. Bezos said the company has reached out to members of Congress to explore legislative options. The company’s public policy team in Washington, D.C., also has reached out to senior administration officials to make clear its opposition, Mr. Bezos wrote.
In one of the strongest signs of corporate disapproval of the order, Mr. Bezos said Amazon has prepared a declaration of support for a suit expected to be filed against the order by the Washington state Attorney General. “We are working on other legal options, as well,” he added.
“To our employees in the U.S. and around the world who may be directly affected by this order, I want you to know that the full extent of Amazon’s resources are behind you,” Mr. Bezos added.
Leaders from across the technology industry have criticized Mr. Trump’s temporary immigration ban on foreign nationals from seven Muslim-majority countries, expressing concern about the order’s effect on their employees, with some executives saying the ban violated their personal and company principles.

I love the convenience of Amazon. I bought things from them regularly.
But this is a step too far.

In other words, Amazon was looking to hire foreigners instead of Americans in the first place! That explains why Amazon constantly has job openings but never fills them.

I have been doing that for a while. He treats his workers terribly, and I have been moving to other sources. I will fully end my association with Amazon.
Mr. Bezos, I spend a LOT of money on Amazon, but it can all very easily come to an abrupt end.

All my appliances, furniture, autos, boots (boots are important), tennis shoes...you name it are all made somewhere other than China. If I can hepp it, they'd all be American made.
Bought a dryer yesterday....American made. Not being a braggart, it's just that important to me. I support American workers. Period.
I hope someone at Sears is paying attention. Yeah, going against Amazon seems like a Hail Mary play, but it might just work. They’ll need a simple ad campaign, totally devoid of political correctness - and quick.

I stopped using Amazon in October. China hacked the company a relative of mine works for that was selling there. The company was overwhelmed with negative feedback about the cheap garbage they were selling. When his company contacted Amazon about what had happened they were told there was nothing they could do about it so the company got off Amazon and my relative told me to stop giving them my business which I did. I just go directly to the website of the company now that I wAnt to buy something from.
I am an avid Amazon buyer. Just placed an order this afternoon . . .looks like I will have to seek other buying venues. I need to check my prime membership.
Be a shame if Jeff wound up breaking the law and spending a few years in federal prison.
So I spend $180 on American made work boots, but bought them from Amazon. Great boots, just need to find an alternative source now.
Prime membership just renewed, but I damn sure don’t need to be a customer if they’re going to prove counter to my values.
Screw Amazon. Hope they take a big loss this year on account of Bezos being a jackass
