University of Oklahoma defensive back and former La Vega High School football player Parrish Cobb turned himself into police Tuesday night, after being accused of three armed robberies in Central Texas, according to Waco Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Patrick Swanton.
Cobb, 19, is facing an aggravated robbery charge for an armed robbery that happened near the Baylor campus on Jan. 10. He's also accused of being involved in the armed robbery that happened on campus outside the McLane Student Life Center on Jan. 7.
The Bellmead Police Department had also issued a warrant for his arrest after an armed robbery at a convenience store near East Loop 340 on Jan. 10.

Obviously wasn’t on an academic scholarship.
Building character(s)
...nothing like a profitable football program.
He will fit right in in the National Felons League.
I joke, but it does pain me that these kids have such opportunities provided to them and they just chuck it in the gutter...either because of "street cred", or the desire for some stupid outrageously priced piece of clothing or just pure damned idiocy because of a dumb ass for a mama or a daddy.
It is a crisis.
I wish we could change it.
Well on the plus side, he has about 20 years on the prison team ahead of him and doesn’t have to pretend to be a student anymore.
This puts the lie to a number of things. He was in college. He was in the football program. But he still felt the need to engage in armed robbery? Was he doing it for “street cred”? Wanted his homies to “respect” him? (These are of course rhetorical questions). This sounds more like a “culture” issue. He was bored, so he decided to roll some convenience stores.
It won’t be ANY thing if he can run a 3.9 in the hundred ...
What is it about Waco and Wackos?
My daughter is a K-5 teacher. One of her kids told her the other day how much fun it is to steal. Not a hint of remorse. No empathy.
Headed for jail, and tragic.
I’m old enough to remember back in 1970 when Nebraska football star Johnnie Rogers got caught robbing a gas station. He was the only Heisman winner to have a felony record (which was vacated in 2013), and at one game some smart alecs brought a big “Texaco” sign and held it up near the goal posts to give him an incentive ;-)
Janet Reno, please pick up the white courtesy phone.
In memory of the alligator wrestler!
a Sooner football player stealin stuff from texas ?
he’ll probably get another reward decal for his helmet.
Did he learn this in one of his courses?
“He was the only Heisman winner to have a felony record (which was vacated in 2013)...”
Convicted felons should never be in the running for the Heisman. Ever. By the way, he later served time for assault.
True...and that's a damned shame, too.
That’s rather fast...

Really a sad case. The backstory is that his parents wanted him to go to OU where he would be away from his “homies”. He was back in Waco on winter break.
Why am I not surprised?
