Stars sick of their fellow entertainers' political rants

Not everyone in Hollywood is a fan of Meryl Streep.

Streep is now facing backlash from those in the entertainment industry who feel her anti-Trump speech at Sunday night's Golden Globes was "hypocritical" and out-of-line for a Hollywood star.

Country star Travis Tritt took to Twitter to offer his "advice to all actors."

"Advice to all actors, musicians and entertainers: Please stick to your crafts that we all love you for and drop the political rhetoric," he tweeted.

If you have fans who respect your talent enough to spend hard earned money to see your talent, be thankful and gracious and leave it at that— Travis Tritt (@Travistritt) January 9, 2017

Piers Morgan echoed Tritt's words, adding he hasn't "heard such elitist snobbery since Hillary Clinton branded Trump supporters 'a basket of deplorables.'"

It’s a very simple matter.

We pay money to them to be entertained.

We do not pay money to see them prove what retarded fools they are.

Their accountant can explain the difference to them, if they are just too dense to understand.

“The problem for entertainers is that no matter what their opinion, they are going to tick off enough people that it will affect their income and popularity, and have no impact other than that.”

Which is why none of them should espouse a public opinion. All doing so does is alienate half your fanbase.

“Like a crowd of crude Nazi blackshirts, they intimidated everyone into shutting-up about any opposing views … AS IF that meant there WERE NO opposing views.”

To borrow from the great Orwell:

“Don’t you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought? In the end we shall make thoughtcrime literally impossible, because there will be no words in which to express it.” ~1984

Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn’s faces during the speech would suggest they weren’t happy :)

Vince is big 2ns amendment guy.

Chris Pratt, a BIG rising star just spoke about his Christianity in a magazine article. Wonder if he’ll be welcome back to make more movies.

And Jenna Jameson is quite the liberal hater on her twitter site. :)

THAT one is the most shocking.

My peeve is going to a movie or watching a TV show and have them sneak in some homosexual situation in a positive light. I hate that.

A heartfelt “amen” to that. And, leftism has most assuredly invaded what passes for “country music” now. Very much so.

Here’s another crazy scenario - I read years ago that Streep, Susan Sarandon, and another of their ilk testified in front of congress about education - because they had played teachers once!

That’s the only country music I listen to, classic country (and a very little of the “indie” type stuff, like Gillian Welch).
And bluegrass, especially because so much of it is instrumental, and I’m a sucker for instrumental virtuosity (why I also love classic prog rock and 70s jazz fusion).

Sally Field testified in front of Congress because she played a farm worker in some movie!

She started out so cute in “Smokey And The Bandit”, but it’s been downhill ever since.

Death to Bro Country.

Roger that.

And any 'artist' that attempts to merge country and rap -- 'Florida-Georgia Line' is absolutely unlistenable.

geez!

What gets me is Congress allowed this. Musta been the dems. They couldn’t find a real teacher or farm worker, apparently!

Bill Mitchell ‏@mitchellvii 2h 2 hours ago I was at Walmart and asked the employee what Meryl Streep's last movie was. "Dollar Bin" No, not where, what?...

She started out so cute in “Smokey And The Bandit”,....You must be very young. Try ‘Flying Nun’ for her beginnings.

Here's a quarter. Call someone who cares!

That is settled science right there. ;)

But really, they can’t even be SMART hypocrites. When I saw Steryl Creep deliver her little lecture, my shock wasn’t that she attacked Trump with lies but that she clearly was VERY VERY STUPID.

...since he himself spewed it at American gun owners over and over and over ad nauseum...

He’s one to talk.
