This is incredible. Just the idea that it might be better business for a company to stay in the US is enough. ANY President could have done this and brought back jobs to the US. But none did. They did not care about the people.

On an aside, I’d like to see a hog processing plant/company relocate to Dearborn.
Now, Michigan can have some jobs to go along with all their great craftbeer.
It sounds like it would have been a ground up plant in Mexico. Ford figured they would make up the $900 million and more with cheap labor.
To break ground on a BRAND NEW plant in Mexico Is far more expensive than EXPANDING their plant in Michigan, the savings on the expansion rather than the NEW BUILD can be put into more expensive labor costs and the jobs STAY in America!!!!

It is far more than that. The EPA has practically banned plastic manufacturing in the US, which is so much of it is processed in Mexico. I suspect Trump will be presented that issue to resolve.
Even as a supporter of his since 2015, I have to admit that this is nothing short of astonishing to behold.
Taxes and regulations are trivial compared with exploiting 3rd world labor and being able to import duty free. Having said that I am all in favor of deregulation. Heck lets fund the govt with tariffs and NRST and ditch the income tax altogether.
Looking forward to never again having to listen to Obama talk about “folks”. FUBO.

Not that the leadership over at Ford is afraid of the potential consequences, but maybe, on second thought, they probably SHOULD do the “right thing”.
