Reid: Dem 2020 class looks like an 'old folks' home'

The prospective class of Democrats who could run for president in 2020 is shaping up as an "old-folks’ home," according to retiring Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.).
Reid made the remark earlier this month when asked by an aide whether he might support a White House run by Vice President Biden, according to New York Magazine.
In response to the question, Reid mentioned the age of several prominent Democrats who are talked about as likely candidates in 2020.
“It depends on who’s running,” Reid told his staff. “It appears we’re going to have an old-folks’ home. We’ve got [Elizabeth] Warren; she’ll be 71. Biden will be 78. Bernie [Sanders] will be 79.”

The ‘Dem’ platform for 2020 will read like an Obituary.
I’ve actually tried to imagine that I’m a democrat and am looking for the future leaders of the party. And I eventually realized that the younger the party member, the more removed from “normal america” they are. It may explain why they keep offering up the geriatric members. It’s all they have left.
It honestly appears that every year they become a little bit more of the lunatic fringe party.
This does not bode well for their party. If they somehow do get power back, though, it doesn’t bode well for the country.

The real problem, Harry, is not exactly that the Dem lineup is so old, but that they are so old, experienced, and well-placed without having attained any real wisdom or vision of a nation united under its founding principles and prospering together. You old farts have stayed on top by dividing and deceiving.
The Dems have aged without grace. And that is not very attractive.
Your lineup looks like an old folks home that has as its marketing plan to seek the crankiest, least generous, most selfish curmudgeons for its residents. It is not a pretty sight.
Like the Soviet Politburo in the 1980s, a collection of corrupt and decrepit old hacks with one token fresh young face to front for it.

They are going to draft a celebrity.
The lesson they will take from Trump’s win is that
celebrity wins elections.
