Christmas banned from being mentioned on menu over fears it would offend Muslims

CHRISTMAS treats have been taken off a menu and replaced with 'winter delicacies' over fears the phrase would offend Muslims.

A function held at the Austrian embassy in Germany still served traditional festive fare such as Lebkuchen but rebranded them as 'winter delicacies'.

The event was a presentation by the Chairman of the Central Council of Muslims in Germany, Aiman Mazyek, who has written the book What Do Muslims Do at Christmas?: Islamic Faith in Everyday Life in Germany.

The invitation to guests, from ambassador Nikolaus Marschik, was described as a “cosy get-together with winter delicacies.”

A reporter attending the event wanted to know exactly what the Austrians suddenly considered "winter delicacies" and asked the embassy for a clarification.

The ambassador then admitted that the traditional Christmas foods had been rebranded out of respect for Islam.

I find “Muslim” offensive.
And like an old man returns soup at a Deli,
Send them Back!

Well, fair’s fair. I mean they stopped doing the 5x daily Muslim calls to prayer in Mecca because they didn’t want to offend the Christians that have moved there, right? Oh wait . . . Christians aren’t allowed in Mecca. Nevermind.

Lebkuchen! The best Christmas treat ever!

(Sadly, too darn expensive in the U.S. - except at Aldi’s)

I was on a Lufthansa flight from Ankara to Frankfurt in 2009 and they had only one choice for lunch: ham and cheese sandwich. The Turks were irate and I swear the flight attendants were enjoying it as much as I did.

These friggin’ Muslims need to get the hell out of my country. I’m tired of listening to these bastards piss and moan all of the time. Nobody asked them to come here.

The issue is not what Muslims do, it’s that they are pressuring Christians (and foolish Christians are pressuring themselves) to do away with their own language, remembrances, and traditions. It is all insane and depraved.

If I go to another culture I do not expect them to drop any/all of their usual practices to not “offend” sensitive me. Generally I will enjoy learning and partaking with respect, as a friendly outsider, as the natives deem appropriate. In any case, I do not expect them to change any of their cultural/religious practices just bc I am around.

But Muslims invade and even as small minorities expect everyone to drop everything, bend over, grovel.... it gets worse and worse as Muslim numbers grow, of course, but even with relatively small numbers they start to demand all sorts of concessions, etc.

This is the price of political correctness. At first it seems like a simple concession to the feelings of a harmless and powerless minority. Like "let's not say Christmas because atheists and jews might be a little irked". How magnanimous! How noble we are!

But thus is created a sense that a few loudmouths are entitled to enforce their demands on the majority. And they do. Now those magnanimous and noble fools are emotionally bullied into compliance. After all, they've already agreed that their own culture is hurtful, how can they now not accept further "concessions" in the name of fairness? They would be hypocrites! Better to capitulate.

THEN groups who are not harmless start to enter the discussion. And now it's not just emotional bullying, it's physical.

And thus this good intentioned foolishness results in a majority that is cowed and afraid because they have emboldened those who would use their weakness as a wedge to undermine and destroy their culture.

Go ahead and offend them.

At this rate, the next thing you know, you'll have a completely halal menu, and a camel jockey valet service for gawds ache.

I have been to many parties celebrating a holiday that I do not personally celebrate and I was not offended at all.

Is there something wrong with me?

Or is there something wrong with muslims?

Book Title: “What Do Muslims Do at Christmas?: Islamic Faith in Everyday Life in Germany”

Kill as many kafir as possible. Why ask, let alone write a book, since the answer is self-evident?

Is this more fake news?

Muslim respect and revere Jesus as one of God's greatest profits.

Move to a Muslim majority country for two years and then you’ll discover if it’s fake news or not.

Surely, you could suggest an easier way to ascertain whether Muslims revere Jesus.

I gather your assertion is that they do not revere Jesus. Perhaps revere is too strong of a word. I may have mistaken the Muslims practice of saying, “Peace be upon him” after uttering the word Jesus as reverence.

What word or words would you use to describe the Muslims view of Jesus?

Apologies for the late reply - in answer to your query, I’d have to say the word would be ‘non-existent’.

They certanly DO NOT even utter the word ‘Jesus’. They hated the fact we celebrated Christmas, and would never wish us a Merry Christmas, although they expected to be congratulated on every one of their bloody holidays (like Kurban bayrami).
