Want something to hurl back at the Election Deniers who think the popular vote should be the real election total?
On Election Night 2016, Donald J. Trump carried 30 of 51 voting states or districts for a total of 59% of the country. In doing so, he won 306 of the available 539 electoral votes for a total of 57% of the country!
Both of those totals are signifcantly higher than the 50% needed to win.
But this one is finished. TRUMP WINS!
We could be like the Left and demand that deniers be stripped of their academic credentials and fired from any political science boards but we conservatives aren't the brownshirts that many liberals are. We're willing to let them debate their points even though the fundamental facts are irrefutably against them.
If majority rules, let’s vote on gay marriage, abortion, welfare, taxes, immigration...
So what if she cleaned house in CA and especially the area between Los Angeles and Mexico. They don’t run America.
Pray America woke
To my mind, if there was enough merit by virtue of sheer population superiority in California and New York, Florida, et al, that would have been reflected in the US Census and would have (if large enough) reflected in a change in apportionment of US Representatives (which also flows to the number of electors along with the 100 Senators).
What this tells me is that this Popular Vote supposed win by Hillary is bullshit comprised of illegals voting coupled with significant vote fraud throughout Democrat precincts.
The red counties are the ones Trump won. and the media keeps lying saying Hillary won "the popular" vote. So 57 communist counties (the democrat plantation factories of fake ballots) hold the rest of the country hostage and have for decades. http://www.snopes.com/trump-won-3084-of-3141-counties-clinton-won-57/
Notice the southern part of the USA is blue = Mexican immigrants and other immigrants. This is an invasion
The only reason Trump “won” is the Electoral College, which was designed to uphold slavery! Therefore Trump is the slavery candidate! He’s literally Hitler!!!!!
Make a T-shirt out of that Map
with MAGA on it.
Spot on. See the map.
The problem with popular vote is that is would nationalize vote fraud. Irregularities in Philadelphia or Detroit are at least quarantined to only one state.
If they want to do this, then some Republican precinct in South Dakota will have to find a couple million ballots for Donald Trump.
National popular vote would be the surest way of turning our elections into banana republic farces.
Minor correction: there were 538 electoral votes available. Also, due to faithless electors, Trump will probably not reach 306 when the electoral votes are actually cast. Nonetheless, he will still get a comfortable majority and will be officially declared the next president when Congress goes about its duty to count the electoral votes.
Actually, folks...if you do not count all the “ILLEGAL” non-citizens, etc. votes Hillary Clinton got....she lost New York California, Virginia, Nevada, Minnesota & New Hampshire and probably Illinois!!! End of story!!!
on the agenda for Trump:
Require same standard of identification/background check/registration for registering to vote as for purchasing firearm.
This is why we have an Electoral College...
> This is the best article showing the wisdom of our forefathers shaping the electoral college.
> There are 3,141 counties in the United States.
> Trump won 3,084 of them.
> Clinton won 57.
> There are 62 counties in New York State.
> Trump won 46 of them.
> Clinton won 16.
> Clinton won the popular vote by approx. 1.5 million votes.
> In the 5 counties that encompass NYC, (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Richmond {Staten Island} & Queens) Clinton received well over 2 million more votes than Trump.
> (Clinton only won 4 of these counties; Trump won Richmond) Therefore these 5 counties alone, more than accounted for Clinton winning the popular vote of the entire country.
> These 5 counties comprise 319 square miles.
> The United States is comprised of 3, 797,000 square miles.
> When you have a country that encompasses almost 4 million square miles of territory, it would be ludicrous to even suggest that the vote of those who inhabit a mere 319 square miles should dictate the outcome of a national election.
> Large, densely populated Democrat cities (NYC, Chicago, LA, etc) don’t and shouldn’t speak for the rest of our country
NUFF SAID!!
Great post! It really makes the whole thing much clearer in most simplistic terms.
A keeper!
