A Rutherford County woman said her son left his visit to Santa Claus in tears because the man made fun of his weight.
Ashley Mayse said she wished she'd never brought Anthony, 9, to talk to the Santa employed by Forest City, Channel 9's partner, WLOS, reported.
Anthony posed for a picture with Santa and shared his Christmas list, but the man's final comments caused Anthony to later tear up the picture with the not-so-jolly character.
"And when it got done, he said, ‘Lay off the hamburgers and french fries’ and that really just disrespected me, and I felt awful," Anthony said.

Well he could have been more gracious about it, like oh wow, you’re as stout as I am, we really both ought to go on a diet, but somehow I still get down those chimneys.
The goodwill of Christmas is enough to overlook a little gluttony. Diets are so New Year’s.
Guess what, weight isn’t the only variable there. Spiritual factors figure in too (call them miracles of preservation if you wish).
He looks like my cousin who died at 32.

I am having a lot up trouble working up sympathy for a nine-year old whose feeling are hurt by Santa. Will he be trick-or-treating when he’s 22? This kid has a serious arrested-development problem.
That is his mom talking. No nine year old boy speaks like that. Can you say “Monetary compensation for pain and suffering”? Sure you can.
