In the wake of an election in which Hillary Clinton won the popular vote but Donald Trump was elected president by winning the Electoral College, a survey showed the lowest percentage of people ever in a Gallup poll saying they would support amending the Constitution to eliminate the Electoral College and decide presidential elections by the popular vote.

“This year, for the first time in the 49 years Gallup has asked about it, less than half of Americans want to replace the Electoral College with a popular vote system,” Gallup said in an analysis of its poll results.

Gallup’s latest poll on the issue, conducted November 28-29—three weeks after this year’s election—showed that 49 percent said they would amend the Constitution so that the nationwide populate vote would decide the presidential election. Forty-seven percent said they would keep the Electoral College system. …

Its going nowhere because swing states would clout under a popular vote system.

Our electoral system is abused by leftists and is not broken.

There are 62 counties in New York State.

Trump won 46 of them.
Clinton won 16.

Clinton won the popular vote by approx. 1.5 million votes.

In the 5 counties that encompass NYC, (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Richmond & Queens) Clinton received well over 2 million more votes than Trump. (Clinton won 4 of these counties; Trump won Richmond)

Therefore these 4 counties accounted for Clinton winning the popular vote of the entire country.

The same thing could be said of California’s coastal counties.

The rest of the country is coming to the realization it does not want to be ruled by NYC and coastal California.

I guess Trump wasn’t the only one who changed his mind.

The Electoral College turned out to be the last line of defense against clinton/obama corruption.

So, if we back out California and the New York City votes from the totals, then Trump would have won a landslide in the rest of the country.

In the past, people just heard “democracy” and “one person, one vote” and instantly unthinkingly supported abolishing the Electoral College. Now people understand that without the Electoral College every Presidential election would be decided by the major cities and every President would be a Democrat.

Let’s say only 1 person lived in a county and 1 million lived in another one. I don’t see the point of counting counties. A county is a land mass.

The kicker is that the Electoral votes are determined by popular vote — by state.

That is by design, so the states with the largest cities would not dominate the elections. It is coincidental that more liberals live in those large cities than in rural states.

And he won Staten Island with 57%!

Suffolk County, the East half of Long Island, also went Trump.

The electoral college just prevented California from stealing the election with illegal votes. As far as I’m concerned, that is enough to prove it’s value.

It saved us from Gore, as well.

City dwellers are less independent, less tied to the land, more dependent on political power, and more subject to establishment media propaganda.

This is an issue now only because Hillary lost the EC vote. Period.

Goes to show us that in spite of what the leftist media and the Democrat party says...most people are saying “THANK GOD” for the electoral college! Which gave Donald Trump the win!

Gallup. That’s a knee slapper of an org poll.

Idiots that undo the Founding Fathers work deserve to be slaves of future invaders and conquerors.
