AT&T Inc. will unveil its long-promised over-the-top video service Monday as the company attempts to get a foothold in the future of how Americans watch television.
The service, called DirecTV Now, will launch later this month and be priced starting at $35 a month for more than 100 live streaming television channels. Consumers, analysts and investors will be looking for specifics around possible pricing tiers, channel lineups and bundling options.
The question remains the quality of the product and user experience, said UBS analyst John Hodulik, who estimates the service will have three million users by the end of 2020, a 20% market share for such services.

$35 a month for more than 100 live streaming television channels. Make it a la carte at $2 a channel.

Curious how it compares with Sling

There are maybe 6 or 7 channels I watch at all. I could live with a la carte very well.

I’m looking at Roku but their website doesn’t show what channels are free and what is the cost of other channels.
Any help with finding the answers will be appreciated.

With Spectrum, you can use your Roku to get their channels.
I have Frontier and it sucks that I have to pay for a converter box every month, it would be nice to be able to do away with the need for converter boxes.

Right! Even if you do not maintain your subscription after three months, you got a great deal on a great streamer. BUT, let's talk about the service for a minute. Never one of the a la carte crowd. I decided to take DirecTV Now for a ride to get an Apple TV. Im in Day 3. Im using a Fire TV stick. Amazon says my gen 1 Fire TVs are not compatible. Most of the day, quality is very good, but, during prime time, there is insufferable buffering. I guess that is part of being part of a very popular live beta. Tech support is worse than terrible. Chat has never been available. Forum support is poor. But I expect all of these situations to improve and there is lots to like. You have to start with the value of the program $35 for 109 channels is very reasonable. These are all real channels no digital music or public access. Most of the channels are live and on demand. I dont know what the actual quality of the image is, but it looks very good on my 720p 43″ television. No DVR yet, but trick play works on most channels. DirecTV Now is no substitute for a premium provider, but DTVn plus an antenna are
or will be once the bugs are worked out.

Is there a link to see what are the free channels?
The Roku site seems to hide this basic information

Sounds a lot like the same old BS!
When will someone let us pick the channels we want to watch.
When will that $35/month become $150/month. We love to ask friends and relatives after about 2 years on Direct tv, what their monthly costs are. They are ashamed to admit how high they are.

For some reason cannot post this site
What happened to free speech??
But today we found out the full pricing details, and they’re a bit less appealing than Stephenson’s sales pitch. The offer of 100 channels for $35 is only good for customers who sign up when the service becomes available or shortly after that. Once the standard pricing sets in, new customers will pay $35 for 60 channels. The other standard packages are 80 channels for $50 a month, 100 channels for $60, and 120 channels for $70.

I am trying it out right now. The price is a great deal, but it is far from ready for prime time. I recommend reading the DirecTV Now forums before you make the leap. With that said, I am not tossing it yet. I want to give them a chance to work out the kinks. The $35 a month plan is only good until you change plans, so quitting before I give it some time might be a bad move.
