Is there a link to see what are the free channels?
The Roku site seems to hide this basic information
go to https://www.roku.com/whats-on it lists pay stuff and lots of free stuff
Netflix and Amazon can be streamed over roku and cost monthly . Those such as showtime and other such don’t appeal to me. There are tons of free channels many of which are worthless
to save buying roku....... buy a new TV with streaming ability built in.Vizio at walmart is cheap : )
buy a roku and play with it. I guarantee you can sell on ebay if you keep the packaging and manuals.
Roku is hardware that brings programming in via Ethernet or wifi (it is not a streaming content provider).
Sling, Hulu, Amazon, et al are streaming content providers.
A Roku plugs into an hdmi port to receive the streaming data. Or an Ethernet can plug directly into a Roku TV.
Prices of streaming services don’t come from a Roku, they can be found by looking at a website for Sling, Hulu, etc.
Between Amazon ($9), NetFlix ($9), and Sling (I chose the $25 package) I get everything my family wants... for $150 less than cable.

I don’t believe there are free major regular cable channels on roku. The only full news channel I get for free on Roku is Skynews from England. The rest of the roku news channels are not the same channels as on cable TV. It is a bit confusing.
