UPDATE, 2:00pm ET: In a meeting with New York Times reporters, President-elect Donald Trump said he would not take the investigations of the Clintons off the table.
Two reporters tweeted from inside the meeting, as Trump also expressed the view that Clinton "suffered greatly" and that it would be "very, very divisive for the country" to prosecute the Clintons.

Not sure if it’s him being soft or his “brilliant” advisors telling him that an investigation would lead to national security issues and WWIII. As he said toda, we will realize that not going after her would “save the country.”
if everyone around here has all the answers for Trump, get on your own $100 million 757, go see the man and tell him what he should be doing. He's not even president yet.
He spoke in two capacities; as president elect and his personal opinion.
He will not use his office to interfere in the investigation (to take them off the table), which is as it should be. Law enforcement should be allowed to do their jobs. But his personal opinion is that it would be hurtful for the Clintons and divisive for the country.
I don’t see that he is wrong in either capacity. The dems will squeal like stuck pigs over the continuing investigation because they will get tarred and tarred again by association, plus who knows who else in dem leadership is at risk of exposure.
These vicious reporters with all their petty concerns.
President Trump is not going to give them the answers they want.
He spots their traps before they’re laid. LOL.
Jason Chavez has stated several times that “Congressional Investigations” are in the offing.
It isn’t just the MSM that’s guilty here. Trump himself is all over the place on these stories. I don’t get worked up over it because we should all be used to it by now. LOL.
It would be hilarious if the FBI seizes all of the Clinton Crime Foundation’s assets.

I believe this is the deal. Him saying he doesn't want to prosecute the Clinton's is probably a way to keep the howling banshee leftists at bay for the time being...

I think he's just laying some groundwork here. There's nothing personal. It's not about animosity for bill and Hill, it's not about bad feelings from the election. If an investigation turns up indictable offenses it's ALL about justice. Nothing personal.
