MSNBC's Katy Tur complains that Donald Trump may avoid the media to "spin the truth in his favor" "without the filter of the press." From a roundtable with MSNBC reporters Tamron Hall, Katy Tur and Kristen Welker Monday morning:
KATY TUR, MSNBC: Donald Trump is going to try to do things his own way. We know he has already used Twitter to his advantage in that sense and try to get out his message without the filter of the press. That way Donald Twitter can say what he wants to say. Sometimes, spin the truth in his favor.
TAMRON HALL, MSNBC: It's like we're getting a little bit of Trump TV. The prediction if he lost was to start his own network. He is in a sense starting his own line of communication avoiding the media.

He can choose what reporters he recognizes at press conferences.
If some Tur(d) rises and just starts talking, he could ignore her and point at someone he respects.
And if CNNNBCCBSABC don’t like it, they can pound sand. If I had three nuts, I’d give one up to see that happen.

Anybody know if a president HAS TO give press conferences on a regular basis or answer questions on a regular basis?
If he answers them the way Christie and Giuliani did, it will be great to watch :)

Very telling. Frankly I am sick and tired of the press filtering the news...I don’t need or want the press to filter my news!!

I am absolutely loving every snivel, every whimper, every tortured shriek of anguished frustration. This is without question the best election in our lifetimes, and I've seen sixteen of them.
The more they writhe and mewl and blubber, the harder I laugh. I've been laughing for two weeks now, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep laughing for at least the next eight years.

When the press continues to lie and spins everything against Trump, this is the necessary result. Blame yourself, Katy. Actions have consequences. The press has been outplayed yet again by the master.
The assertions emanating from media apologists contending that Trump actually benefitted from the massive press coverage that he did receive ignores the fact that the reporting was almost always negative. If Trump benefited at all it was only because the public, seeing the outpouring of sheer hatred from a media that it already distrusted, came to believe that someone so vilified by a source so questionable must actually represent something worth supporting.

Roosevelt had his weekly 'Fireside Chat" directly to the people on the radio - that should be brought up.
"filter of the press"???? He shouldn't be able to "say what he wants to say"? "Shouldn't be able to speak directly to the people?
They really believe we are too stupid to understand what we hear ourselves - that we need them to interpret what the president says - ....but of course, the 'filter' is now 'spin' -
Do they teach this in journalism school - that they should 'filter' what we hear? It's bad enough that they do, but I thought they did it knowing it isn't their right, but their goal and duty to their cause.
But it's even worse than that.
I gotta go to bed - this hurts my head.
