Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, is under consideration for attorney general in Donald Trump's administration, a Bloomberg News reporter tweeted Tuesday night.
Cruz was seen earlier in the day visiting Trump Tower in Manhattan, where Trump's transition team is talking about Cabinet level positions.
Trump himself tweeted about 30 minutes after Jacobs announced her "scoop," saying he alone knows who will get job offers.
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a Trump supporter after dropping out of the race, said a Cruz hire would be "a big shock for me," considering the acrimony between Trump and Cruz during the GOP nomination process.
"We all ran together, but there was never a group hug that involved Ted Cruz," Huckabee said on Fox News Channel's "The Kelly File."
"I would be very surprised if that was the case," he said, but admitted, "This election has been made of surprises."
Cruz is not well-liked by his Senate colleagues on either side of the aisle, so if he is nominated, he might get 100 percent confirmation support, Huckabee said, "because he wouldn't be in the Senate, and they haven't been that happy with him being there."

“Lyin’ Ted”? The media will never let Trump live that down. Much better than Lyin’ Loretta though.

That is a very important consideration, possibly even a “disqualifying” one.

He could have given Cruz the choice between SCOTUS and AG. So too early to say either is ruled out.

Because Cruz fights for the people and the Constitution, not for go-along-to-get-along olive branches from other members of his party.
Loyalty to people and party is a path to evil. Loyalty to principles and the Constitution is the path of righteousness.
Once Trump made it clear he would appoint justices who would uphold the Constitution, it became clear to Cruz and others that he was worthy of an endorsement.

Don’t trust Ted, Donald. It will not end well, if you do.

He is not the representation of all that is righteous. His self-righteousness and sanctimonious arrogance reveals his true character.
You are of course entitled to your own opinion, but I do not buy his righeousness for a minute. Cruz has shown himself to be a snake, time and time again. An obnoxious, dishonorable snake. He is the snake in the story, The Snake, that DJT read at the rallies.
Cruz signed a pledge. The time to honor that pledge was long before he did. Instead, he accepted DJT’s sincere olive branch extension, and used it as a platform to engrandize himself. He got booed for a very good reason.
That he met privately on AF1 with Obama at a critical point in time just cements what a two-faced, dishonorable, dishonest, conniving, disgusting piece of work he is. He engenders strong emotions of visceral hate for a very good reason.
I know you hold him in high regard, JJ, but on this we must disagree.
IMO, he is the epitome of all that is wrong with DC. He is one of the Swamp Monsters that needs to be drained.

I agree. I doubt Trump will choose him. On top of his disgusting move at the Convention, he has shown very poor judgment consistently. I don’t want him anywhere near Judicial offices.

Well Mr. Trump surprised a lot of people when he picked Mike Pence for Veep. Personally I hope the meeting with Cruz is a Trump head-fake. I think Cruz is an Illuminati and I don’t trust him anywhere in a Trump administration.
To: JediJones
Especially Jeff Sessions.
To: virgil
“Who would replace him in the Senate?”
The previous governor probably, Rick Perry.
It wouldn’t be a democrat.
