A feud in one neighborhood has reached a boiling point, after one man bought a billboard to pressure a registered sex offender to move in Robinwood, Alabama.
Jeb Lessley had the billboard made at a local business for $160. It shows Raymond Martin's mugshot and lists his address and charges, including second-degree rape and sodomy for a 2013 conviction involving an underage girl.

I dated a fourteen year old girl in high school for a brief period of time who might have been able to pass for 18.
13 is pushing it IMO.
Ditto. Average in my county is 34
Are you trying to tell us something, Anthony? /ba-dum t’sssh>
Yep. One has to define what you mean by “sex offender” before throwing around a statistic.
Agreed. I’m also a little more skeptical about not sussing out her real age in a two year relationship than I would be with a “one night stand” situation.
Google Maps doesnt even have a Torrington, Nebraska. It is defaulting me to Torrington, Wyoming.
The picture of the guy in the cop car has to be a fake. He looks like a vacuum cleaner salesman from the 50’s in a really fabulous mood.
Reading the comments on the story page makes me think its some kind of phishing, for people opinions and reactions.
Couldnt find any other corroboration on the net. (But its late.)
Definatly sumthin fishy goin on.
And I really cant believe I am going to do this, but, Even Snopes is calling it bogus.
Although many readers may now be familiar with Associated Media Coverage's reputation, the site has recently started publishing articles under the banners of fictitious newspapers such as The Boston Tribune and The Baltimore Gazette: boston tribune While Associated Media Coverage may be changing their name to The Boston Tribune, their content is still nothing more than fake news.
An IT guy I hired is a registered sex offender. His crime... He was drunk at A BAR. A girl came up to him and started making out with him. I am sure there was some petting going on. When he found out she was 17 he attempted to cut off all communication from her. She got mad he got arrested. After jail he now has that stigma the rest of his life. He was 21 legally allowed to be in a bar under the assumption all women were 21 and over.
Exactly. I’m in rural South Dakota and nothing here either.
Thank you.
The Boston Tribune is a fake news site. FR really needs to get a list of these databased and prevent them from being posted.
You mean the age of the victims because a minor can be prosecuted for it and put in the system and sentenced to serve time in a youth detention center but his record will be sealed to the public though. They're not registered as far as the public can see...
Yes, and violent rapists and child molesters are the only ones that should be registered. However the registries have encompassed thousands that shouldn’t be there.
I’ve seen that. I’m saying there are thousands that don’t need to be on there.
Violent offenders, predators, child molesters should be.
Kids that sleep with their 16 year old girlfriends, and college kids that pee in their backyards shouldn’t be. But they are.
Which gives the violent ones cover. The exact opposite of what a registry is supposed to prevent.
Some should be on the registry. I’m saying that 80-90% of the people on the registries shouldn’t be.
It’s turned into a modern day witch hunt.
Most likely to abuse the kid, mommy's boyfriend, (not family), second most likely to abuse the kid daddy's girl friend (also not family)
Even those who kidnap their victims often are known at least casually by the child. Makes it easier.
Stop talking sense. There are virtues being signaled here, dammit!
That is from a bogus web site, best to avoid spreading it.
From Valpal1 (later in the thread than your comment):
“The Boston Tribune is a fake news site. FR really needs to get a list of these databased and prevent them from being posted.”
http://thebostontribune.com/ <-— FAKE NEWS SITE
eg: http://www.snopes.com/marian-robinson-pension/
“There was no truth to this report. The Boston Tribune is a fake new site that masquerades as the online arm of a legitimate big-city newspaper in order to lure readers with fabricated clickbait stories.”
“The Boston Tribune is an offshoot of the fake Associated Media Coverage web site, which has previously published false stories claiming that Florida store owners killed 31 looters after Hurricane Matthew, that the practice of “open carry” was being banned in the United States,” and that convicted murderer Jodi Arias had been released from prison.”
A friend of mine was observed urinating in an alley by a woman and her child. The woman called 911 and he was charged and convicted of a sex crime. His life was ruined and now he must register as a Level 1 sex offender (This is in Massachusetts).
