Fox News host Sean Hannity, a close ally of Donald Trump, said Tuesday night that Paul Ryan would not retain his position as House speaker in the next Congress.

"Paul Ryan is not going to be the speaker of the House in January," Hannity said.

"He's not going to be speaker."

If the intel on FR is correct, isn’t Ryan’s wife an active Democrat bundler/operative?

Roger on the thoughts of no “authority”” to dump someone from position in the legislative branch, but real leaders know how to communicate expectations and affect change without having direct organizational authority.

I think the Trumpster is perfectly capable of convincing those House leaders what he believes as the best path and key personnel for success, and get them to act on behalf of the best interests of the country.

Yes, he did that several times. Perhaps too much butt kissing and pandering?

If you were to listen to him without knowing his record with Trump, you would think it was a ringing endorsement. He had high praise for Trump. But knowing his record, it comes across as someone desperate to save his own political career. I would never trust him again.

Also, I noticed he avoided answering questions about his holding on to the speakership.

Trump does not look at politics that way, i.e., “Ryan helped me win Wisconsin therefore I will reward him with the speakership.”

At least I hope not; that’s the opposite of the man I thought I was voting for.

Loyalty is different than quid pro quo.

Whatever influence Trump has over who is speaker and other key leadership spots, I hope he uses it to choose people who will drain the swamp, and do so aggressively, relentlessly, ahead of schedule, under budget, and according to the constitution.

That is not Paul Ryan. If Trump starts appointing people because he owes them, that will be the first indication that he’s just another politician cutting deals.

I don’t think Trump is planning to dissappoint us with that kind of crap.

Now, saying nice things about Hillary, Rience, Putin or whoever, that’s fine - you schmooze, you make nice. The campaign is over, mend fences - but no favors, no compromises, no back room deals.

##############

Perfect, and bears repeating.

Ryan needs to spend the rest of his life working as the men’s room attendant at the Grayhound Bus Station, graveyard shift.

I’m not sure what the truth is.

Reince Priebus was up at the mike early this morning with DJT and he is part of the Wisconsin GOP, the most insider of the insiders.

Will they decide after the election to ‘get along’. Trump and Ryan?

Ryan was crazy to have brought out the long knife, but it was to represent the Corporatist insiders who hate Trump.

The top court in the UK has already insisted that Brexit in the UK go before the Corporatist Uniparty dominated Parliament of anti-Brexiters. That is in spite of the will of people expressed in the referendum.

What opposition, stabs in the back, undermining is in store for Donald Trump’s tenure as POTUS and from where will it come?

he has to be out. I am sure already there are phone calls between he and McCain, Graham, Mitch and a few others to perform some sort of mutiny early on.

I don’t trust the nest of snakes at all.

Right. Ryan covered his bases at the last moment, and frankly, did the best thing he’s done in years....unite with Trump to help him across the finish line in Wisconsin. Granted, it was self-serving, but sadly, I think this coward retains the Speakership.

TN has Scott Desjarlais, Marsha Blackburn, and Diane Black; all very conservative.

Paul Ryan knows that if he doesn’t work with Trump that he’s going to have a long four years, end up like Boehner, and be on the receiving end of some Oval Office speeches by the POTUS. “We have a HUUUUGE problem in the swamp where a terrible serpent named Paul Ryan is serving the interests of the corrupt media and lobbyists in the rigged DC swamp. We need to drain the swamp starting with Ryan.” Instead Paul Ryan certainly must fancy himself as someday becoming President or at least having a decent legacy as Speaker. So he knows he’d be wise to work with the POTUS to get a pro-Constitution agenda passed. Thus what’s next will depend on how Ryan approaches Trump now.

By the way, Congress has a deadline of March 15th to get that swamp drained. Otherwise they won’t be able to spend money. http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/deal-would-suspend-debt-ceiling-until-after-2017-inauguration/article/2574984

I like Daniel. He lost in an attempt to get the Speakership a few years back, if I recall.

ABR! Anybody But Ryan! He's a weasel, back stabbing, globalist elitist! I do like the Constitutionalist Daniel Webster, though.

Hi guy. I hope you are doing well.

Another glorious day in paradise, eh?

Correct. Methinks he may have a shot in January.

Next Tuesday Ryan will offer himself for an additional 2 year term as speaker. Who will oppose?
