The winner of the U.S. presidential election will be determined by about 17 swing counties, with a total of about 500,000 swing voters between them. The American public has heard that 12 swing states will determine who will be the next president. But a book, Presidential Swing States: Why Only Ten Matter, by Hamline University Professor David Schultz, who also edits the Journal of Public Affairs Education, predicts a very small number of Americas 3,142 counties and county equivalents will tip the balance.
In Ohio, its Hamilton County, home to Cincinnati;
In Pennsylvania, the key counties are Bucks and Chester Counties, to the north and south of Philadelphia; along with Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties, straddling Scranton and Wilkes Barre in its western interior;
In Florida, its Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties, surrounding Tampa and St. Petersburg;
In Wisconsin, the keys are Brown County and Winnebago County near Green Bay; plus Racine County to the south near Chicago suburbs;
In Iowa, its rural tiny Bremer County;
In New Hampshire, its inland Hillsborough Township, on the Massachusetts border;
In Nevada it is Clark County, home of Las Vegas;
In Virginia, its Prince William County, outside Washington D.C.;
In North Carolina, its Wake County, which encompasses Raleigh and Durham;
In New Mexico, its Bernalillo County, along with Albuquerque and Dona Ana County near Las Cruces.

Prince William County. Thats where all the bureaucrats live.
It’s never been more true than right now: Opinions are like butts - everyone’s got one.
It’s pretty clear that no one at all knows what’s going to happen tomorrow.
In Florida, its Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties, surrounding Tampa and St. Petersburg;
I dont know how they get that. Those two counties are not even the largest counties in Florida.

I think it may have to do with unpredictability?

Get informed!
Not necessarily, but it would certainly make the elections more national since many more counties or congressional districts in contention.
Get informed?
No one in the entire US is “informed” as you put it; there are too many variables - such as the extent of democrat cheating and the number of illegals who will be permitted to cast votes.
Get informed?
Even Kreskin doesn’t know what will happen.

Did you actually read the article and material posted by Hostage and others???
Actually, the article is based on a $100 330-page book, Presidential Swing States: Why Only Ten Matter, by Hamline University Professor David Schultz, who also edits the Journal of Public Affairs Education, predicts a very small number of Americas 3,142 counties and county equivalents will tip the balance.
The counties listed in his book are also highlighted by Ed Morrissey, who wrote a similar book, and the counties are also among those that dear leader’s feds are planning to “monitor.”
Apparently people in the know have determied that these counties carry a great deal of importance.
I applaud anyone who is able and willing to monitor these locations—frankly ANY LOCATIONS.
I’ll be a volunteer at the polls tomorrow. We have specific instructions on how to handle things at the polls. They’ll have sheriff’s officers out in force.
Look what VA is up to, with their crooked Gov.....

I know :(
I think we may need a SEPARATE THREAD started that is devoted for observed VOTE AND ELECTION FRAUD. Then maybe send it to Trump campaign...
I read that he had one of those automated signature pens that allowed him to “review” 13,000 (they lied, it was 60,000) cases and write letters pardoning them...Crap!
Importance is fine and, yes, even somewhat predictable.
Anyone, anywhere, who monitors a voting location is a hero in my book.
But cheating can happen anywhere and throw off everyone’s predictions.
Right now, the only reliable information about tomorrow, IMO, is that it’ll be a socio-political hurricane.
Why do people post this CRAP????
——there are too many variables -—
Right on!!
The concept of too many variables involves variables. Most folks can’t grasp the concept of variables, much less too many variables. The concept of the interaction of variables is totally beyond comprehension.
So, polls are taken where questions are asked about a few and then presented as only one.
T= A + B(f) +C (3s)+ D + E(3r + l)^ 3 + F(3.14) + G +H(365/e)
Damn shame when people who are paid to write don’t know proper usage of “between” and “among.”
What is it for TX?
The article does not denote any specific counties in TX as being swing counties. However that is not to say that some in Texas could not come into play. I would hope vigilant Trump supporters will be watching Austin as I believe it is a democrat stronghold.
So glad to know that I dont live within 500 miles of any meaningful county. Im upset, though, that my vote for Moe Howard and Larry Fine wont matter.
LOL Moe Howard, Larry Fine.
The article is not saying that other counties don’t matter...These are just of particular import.
EVERYONE NEEDS TO GO VOTE—You know, crawl through broken glass, raging fires, white-out blizzards, etc. to VOTE!
Don’t tell me, let me guess - you’re a Professor of Mathematics.
My hat’s off to you...
I always loved math, but just couldn’t get my brain around it.
Maine is divided into 2 Congressional districts. While many states is based on statewide popular vote (all or nothing) Maines districts can be won by one candidate and the other can be won by the other candidate.
Oh, that is interesting.
