The latest Hampton University Center for Public Policy (CPP) poll reveals that the FBIs decision to reopen the Hillary Clinton email investigation may have triggered a boost for Donald Trump with likely voters in Virginia.
Democratic Presidential nominee Clinton had a two point lead before the email news story broke on Friday Oct. 28. She is now trailing three points behind Republican Presidential nominee Trump.
With only six days left before the November Presidential election, Trump has jumped ahead of Clinton, erasing a 12 point deficit reported by the CPP in early October. This surge for Trump demonstrates again how erratic the run for the White House has been as we head into the final days of Decision 2016. This is the first time Clinton has trailed in the CPP polls this year, the latest poll was conducted Oct. 26-30.
When Virginians were asked if the election were held today, 44 percent of those surveyed would vote for Trump and 41 percent would choose Clinton, while a high percentage of voters remain undecided (15 percent). This is a major shift from just one month ago when Clinton led Trump by 12 points. (CPP poll, October 2016 - Clinton 46 percent , Trump 34 percent).

Well, the Clinton's never seem short of dead bodies, that's for sure.
I’ll bet her consession speech is three words. And the middle word is you.
I am not convinced that Hillary will give a concession speech. She will be in denial for weeks.
Then again, polling for VA has been bad, bad, bad in the last 10 years or so.
This is the only poll that got the last gov election correct!!!! Awesome news.
Which is BS. I think they shouldn’t report results until all the areas have turned in their votes to the Sec of State. Everybody flop your cards all at once or something like that. I am sure it happens in Pa, Md, Fl, and dozens of other states where the urban centers vote opposite from the rural parts of the state.
Absolutely. Taking Virginia will mean a very early night for Trump, the next President of the United States.
And, we’ll get to see the media cry all night.
I still remember CNN’s Judy Woodruff almost boo hooing when the Republicans took the Senate. It was glorious! She could barely get the words out.
Virginia is such a beautiful state, but those horrible traffic jams on the freeways. If Virginia has really shifted, we are in the middle of an earthquake. This is a state the Dems thought they had for sure, with McAuliffe and company ready to cheat.
Yes, she will turn to the lawyers.
That is correct. As well as Newport News too.
Be still, my heart!
Hell, if Trump takes VA, then we might see a landslide of 1980 proportions.
I probably won’t be able to sleep until November 9!
Right in line w internals from Team Trump
Wonder if RCP will post this poll?
When was the last time a Republican presidential candidate took Virginia?
That would be W in 2004.
I am trying not to get too far ahead of myself, but its tough with all this good news. Tuesday needs to get here fast.
Hey, isn’t that Hillary on the ground next to her tarnished crown?
Maybe not, she never wears anything but a pants suit.
They should.. they've posted this one in the past.
Suppose you lived in the soviet part of VA and wanted to hang a Trump big sign over a main freeway before rush hour. Good idea or don’t tip them off to hidden Trump enthusiasm?
Conventional wisdom going into election day is this state is safe D. Libs don’t remember Warner and McAuliffe almost lost because they ultimately prevailed. Maybe don’t want to give them a reason to think they need to turn out? What do you all think?
