After more than a week of blistering attacks from Democrats, celebrities and the press, Donald Trump has managed to pull ahead of Hillary Clinton by 1 percentage point — 41.3% to 40% — in a four-way matchup, according to the new IBD/TIPP poll released today. Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson got 8% and Green Party candidate Jill Stein got 6%. The results are the first in the IBD/TIPP presidential tracking poll. Daily updates start Thursday and will continue until the election. The IBD/TIPP poll previously was monitoring support for the candidates in the 2016 election on a monthly basis.

Crooked Hillary has spent hundreds of millions of dollars and can’t break out of the low 40s, in this case getting 40% by a cat’s whisker. Not good for the incumbent party.

You can bet your butt that if they are conceding a one point advantage to Trump going into the eve of the debate, he is far advance from that lead.
All polls that show Clinton with large leads, are designed to suppress trump turnout. All polls showing close races in solid trump states are designed to bait trump into diverting money from the true battleground states. Carvilles fingerprints everywhere. This is a dead even race and Clinton has shot her last wad.
Looks like we will have a fifth daily tracking poll to follow starting tomorrow.
I believe this is the first poll showing Jill Stein getting significant support (from Bernie supporters). I believe that is genuine. This poll looks credible to me.

What turnout model do they use? If it is 2008 when Democrats outvoted Republicans by 8 points or 2012 when Democrats outvoted Republicans by 6 points both are wrong. There is at least an 11 point gap in supporter enthusiasm in favor of Trump

So even if this is off by 2 points (not likely because it appears so regularly) it still leaves Trump up 2 points against the best Barack Obama did.
