In December 2010, I was a guest at a cocktail party in Washington, D.C. for incoming Republican members of the House of Representatives. I had lost my own congressional race in Illinois, but had made enough friends among fellow GOP candidates that they graciously allowed me to join the festivities.
Inside, there was excited talk about the new Tea Party class, about fixing Washington, about finding places to live in high-rent D.C. And there was also talk about women that kind of talk.
Some of the new members, many of whom had spent the day surrounded by young, attractive, ingratiating, dressed-to-the-nines female would-be staffers, wondered aloud how they were going to avoid the temptations of being surrounded every day by such creatures.
The details do not matter: suffice it to say the language used was not that much better than the newly-surfaced lewd chat that Donald Trump had with Billy Bush on a live mic, eleven long years ago.
Not every man talks that way about women. But plenty do in the locker room, on the golf course, and on Capitol Hill. I was once taken aback when one congressman praised my wifes looks, in rather lurid terms.
Some of the same Republicans are beating a disgraceful retreat from Trump, acting as if they have never heard such language before.
...
If they are willing to lose the country for that is what may be at stake over a decade-old joke, they might deserve to lose.
And if Trump wins regardless, look out: he will have done it on his own.

This is great. Now RINOss boldly identify themselves when in the past they would hide in shadows. It makes it easy to profile targets.
“If you speak out against Trump, I will not only note vote for you, I will vote for your opponent.”
Amen brother!
This exactly why GOPe will always be losers in presidential elections. They can’t wait to throw their candidate overboard for decades old slang talk. Meanwhile, the democrats promote candidates that talk this way and have there popularity in the party rise to new heights. Please don’t torment me with hand wringers like Ryan, McCain, and the 80 or so weasels that have the moral staying power of an invertebrate!
Their wives are probably laughing their a***** off....like they’re all saints...
The bush nephew is who got the hot mic deal done... and pushed the memory of where it was into the proper hands for the Bush/Clinton Dynasty...
they feigned some support for trump to make this come as a shock closer to the election. they are getting ready to do even more of it each week to cover up for Clinton/Bush collaboration to destroy our sovereign nation.
cover up those emails.
dump trump and get hillary in.
That is who they are.
This is all they are good for.
They want to lose. It gives them all the excuse they need not to carry through with their election rhetoric, taking the pressure off. In other words, it makes their “job” easier.
>>There arent any Republicans anymore. The GOP is dead.<<
I walked away from the GOP almost 30 years ago after spending nearly 20 years carrying water for the party with nothing to show for it. I got a belly full of those turncoats and back-stabbers a long, long time ago. I prayed that a third party would emerge, friendly to my conservative values (or, at least, not hostile toward them). Sure, I usually ended up voting for Republican candidates over the years, but even those people didn’t automatically get my vote by hanging an (R) behind their name. I truly hope that Trump will prevail in this election and that he kicks the Republican Party to the curb when he does. They will attempt to undermine his Presidency at every turn, so there’s no point in his playing nice with these a**holes. The GOP is dead to me and a large part of it’s base. I hope it’s dead to Donald Trump, as well.
The US Constitution will have to be changed so it supports multiparties where a majority or coalition of parties select the President (or Prime Minister). When that happens going 3rd party will make sense otherwise you are surrendering the field to the other party. The Founding Father’s purposely designed our system to minimize “factions” - what they called political parties. The minimum number and not be a one party state is two. They may not be called Rats or GOPe but it will always evolve down to two. This is because our system forces everything down to one issue,’ How much power does the central government have?’. That argument has be ongoing since the beginning.
You got these guys, that use trumps name to get funds....I didn’t fall for it, maybe some did.
Latest in the mail for me is going back in their pre paid envelope.
Modified a bit, yes, just added a few comments they left out after “please make your checks out to Trump Make America Great Again committee”
Lol! Yes, I said it
I fear though that the American people cannot discern the distinction.
Hi Onyx. Glad to see your comment on the thread and agree with it.
I want a check on what I've been observing on these threads but I hope I'm wrong. I'm observing that most commenting on these are men and I know that a fair number of women are FR members. While like all of us I deplore Trump's ancient (in political terms) sexist remarks, I wonder if those FR women and those friends of the fairer sex have been so offended that they no longer support him as the biased media whould have us believe? What about women in your church group? Or young women millennials who have no recollection of how women were treated in the workplace before sexual harassment (even a compliment) became a demotion or dismissal offense. I'd sure like a reality check from FR women about this, especially those that realize Trump, with all his faults, is the only one that can save our country come November 8.
“While like all of us I deplore Trump’s ancient (in political terms) sexist remarks”
Not me. What remarks are you talking about?
Same here!
exactly. The snobs act all shocked , and yet are much worse, lets not forget the women are not innocent in how they talk about men either.
Why is locker room talk bad, but murder of civilians and others is fine?
My point exactly...
Not sure I can actually pull the lever for Tammy Duckworth, but Mark Kirk can go FVCK himself. No chance he is getting my vote.
FUMK
Go Donald. Burn the house down. Expose the WHORE.
Trump will be the last Republican candidate I’ll ever vote for. In opposing the GOP’s nominee, they’ve shown their stripes; abject cowardice.
Good riddance to bad rubbish!
