Fort Wayne Police Department spokesperson Michael Joyner said a white colored suv pulled up alongside of the clown. A man was driving. Joyner said the man got out of the car and fired several shots. The man then got back in the suv and headed north on Plaza.
This isnt the first shooting thats happened on this street, neighbor Joe Wright said. They happen often down the street.
Joyner said he doesnt know why people are dressing as clowns, but he said he suspects fear is a factor across the city.
I just think its crazy. People better take those clown mask off
before the coroner does, Wright said.

I blame all this on Richard Bachman.

Was he a “scary” clown doing it for kicks, or was he on his way to a birthday party to entertain the kids and make a few bucks? Neither one should have been shot, but provoking fear in people sometimes creates a reaction that is more than expected.
To: Forgotten Amendments
Not justifying. Just warning people how NOT to get in trouble by provoking other nutjobs. Standard wisdom.
Although I really do wonder what is going on with this clown thing.

There have been multiple reports of attacks by people dressed in clown suits as we all know by now. So, considering this concern, the guy who dressed like a clown was a total idiot if he did not have bad intentions. While it may not be a crime to be an idiot, it sounds like people are taking matters in their own hands.
My advise: don’t dress like a creepy clown.

Unless I missed something, the person quoted isn't a cop.

I happen to agree with the PD spokesman. I think that all masks should be illegal on adults, ski masks, burkas, burger kings, whatever. Flame on!

Correct. He was a police "spokesman".
Does that mean he has a badge? I dunno'.
But, he's still an idiot.

You are correct, the article mentions a police spokesman, and a neighbor, and then intersperses their comments in a very confusing manner. I was faked out.
