Michael Savage is a very well known radio talk personality. The Savage Nation is a nationally syndicated talk show that is the second most listened-to radio talk show in the country with an audience of over 20 million listeners on 400 stations across the United States...
Shortly thereafter, as Michael Savage discovered the issue and began discussing what was going on in/around the New York broadcast area, all Savage affiliates nationwide cut off the broadcast and replaced the live transmission with a recording of a previous show.

I’ll tell you what happened in Albuquerque with Savage’s show:
The putz Glenn Beck had some local flunkie mortgage broker buy out a huge chunk of ad space on KKOB radio, and Savage got bumped to a different time and frequency. This was “conveniently” right before the Beck-stabbing tirade, but the station has STILL kept the imbecile Beck in it’s prime spot.
I think I found the explanation. Bill Hess is the Cumulus honcho for talk radio programming. He also fulfilled that role at the old Air America “progressive” radio network from 2008 to 2010:

Depends on which "they" you're talking about.
Very unlikely that 400 separate stations cut of his show at "near the same time' and all replaced it with a previous show.
Instead, what probably happened was that whoever controlled the satellite uplink decided to pull the plug and replaced the current show with a specific earlier show.

Yes, if it was a “glitch” that just affected WABC in the NY Market, which is where I listen, that would be one thing. But the fact that it was pulled on 400 stations nationwide is another thing. Sort of like the plane hitting the first WTC building,and everyone thinking it was some kind of bizarre accident, then the 2nd plane hitting and everyone having to get shocked into understanding it was no accident at all.
