Since policing is a problem, the police should be removed from communities altogether, according to Black Lives Matter founder Alicia Garza.

Garza argued that the United States gives too much respect to police officers, explaining that when police do wrong, a few bad cops are blamed, rather than a “corroded and corrupt system.”

“Quite frankly, many of our [Black Lives Matter] members are continuing to investigate what it would mean to have police-free

Yes. You are right on that. My youngest daughter asked questions like that. Her stupid boyfriend actually said to my wife and Me, “What would be so wrong with socialism.?”

Fortunately she has moved miles beyond that dope.

Yep, and they would be far more brutal and ruthless than “real” police. Probably more corrupt too.

“How do we stop violence, looting, and riots? The way that we stop that is by making sure that people have the things that they need to thrive,” Garza said. “When people are systematically denied their right to adequate housing, adequate schools, to adequate food, to dignity—this is a response and a reaction that we should absolutely expect.”

1. Dignity is not a necessity for survival.

2. The is no “right” to adequate housing, adequate schools, adequate food in the Constitution...they have the freedom to work and earn their bread etc

3. the response to lack of basic needs for survival remains the same...get a job...

4. They are not eating because they refuse to work...

Sure... It's called "the law of the jungle"... Pretty much like Detroit and Chicago is now...

Great Idea but not original. How about “The Wire’s” Hampsterdam. How’d that work out for Baltimore?

A TV show I know, but reality starting to mimic fiction.

No police? No problem.

But that also means no fire department, no EMTs, no public utilities, no public transportation, no public works, no mail.

No meals on wheels, no visiting nurses or social workers.

Her idea creates a dead zone in the urban areas. But hey, let the NBPP and the NOI take over and see how long it is before those “police-free” neighborhoods are on fire.

Give them what they want.

I’m sure Alicia expects businesses to locate in those communities.

Her parents must have done drugs before she was born.

“Quite frankly, many of our [Black Lives Matter] members are continuing to investigate what it would mean to have police-free communities."

It would mean heavily laden tree limbs every time a white person was robbed, raped, or murdered.

Since the feds have programs for everything on that list but dignity, and they’ve failed, it is clear they are unfit to try to continue to do more in that area.

You also have to stipulate no welfare or other assistance.

THere has to be some form of income. It won't be shops, or arts and crafts, since no one from outside will come in. I think the existing level of welfare and foodstamps would have to be maintained. I don't know what you do for external jobs outside the sealed experiment. And I don't know what jobs you can have internally that are government or free market. Firemen will be assaulted. No one would work at a CVS. It will be a food desert. It would take some thought as to how to set it up, and it would likely be impossible to get agreement on it, anyway.

Law of the Jungle would prevail. The strongest (gangbangers) would rule the streets and terrorize everyone weaker.

Other gangs would disagree, naturally, and warfare would erupt. The “good” people would move away and all that’s left is a war zone.

History is full of examples.

Fine. Let the cops pick which communities they want to patrol. White conservative suburbs will be the safest places on earth.

If a group rejects the rules of behavior of a society, they have no right to claim income from that society.

The whole point of the idea is to make others pay to clean up their mess, on their terms, while greasing their palms.

I quite simply reject the support side of the equation. They are expressing a desire for anarchy. I see no reason whatsoever to subsidize it.

I see your point re anarchy.

I was thinking about how the social experiment could be set up. Some conditions would be less than ideal.
