Since policing is a problem, the police should be removed from communities altogether, according to Black Lives Matter founder Alicia Garza.
Garza argued that the United States gives too much respect to police officers, explaining that when police do wrong, a few bad cops are blamed, rather than a “corroded and corrupt system.”

When they don’t need to marry and work, because we will pay their bills and they can carry guns and be thugs and do dope and run wild, this “community” of 70% of children living in poverty with one parent (and more often than not GRANDPARENT) this is what we can expect.
I’d be willing to run a social experiment if they could find a community that wanted to do it. It would be a true ghetto, of course, because it would have to fenced off from civil, policed society. But, if a group could be found that wanted to live in a no-police community, let them have at it, so long as we can control outside collateral damage.
Such a community could never voluntarily exist, because the predators that want no police are parasites. Without a productive, or at least wealth (even if welfare is the source) possessing community to prey on, they would have no means of support.

Police Free...until they become the “Police”.
Fine by me.
Give them everything and they will still fight each other. A truly orderly society comes from those with self discipline and internalized moral values and beliefs.. Without them you have anarchy. Order cannot be imposed on an inherently disorderly people.

I admit to not reading the article. But the headline sounds crazy.
More so in Detroit. Basically it’s the right to bear arms against the thugs.

Alternatively, by making sure that nobody (outside the elite's safe gated communities) has anything worth looting.

I think this is a great idea. Let them wallow in their own filth.

I went to the Mises Institute as part of my MBA studies about 15 years ago, and one of the lecturers’ pet projects was a police-free society, where people hired their own private security forces. That sounded to me like London in the 1700s, where the drug of choice was the newly-invented mass production of gin, and the results were the same then as in today’s lower-class neighborhoods, regardless of race. To put it another way, locks are for honest people: the police serve best when the society is inherently moral, so that they may concentrate their efforts on the statistical minority who are not—and their very existence acts as a conscientious deterrent to those in the “moral majority” (generically speaking) who might be tempted.
