Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said Wednesday that he was troubled by the controversial shooting of Terence Crutcher, 40, by Tulsa police officer Betty Shelby last Friday because he looked like he did "everything he was supposed to do" but was killed anyway.
"I must tell you I watched the shooting in particular in Tulsa and that man was hands up. That man went to the car, hands up, put his hands on the car, I mean to me it looked like he did everything he was supposed to do," said Trump in remarks at a town hall style event addressing African-American issues in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
"And he looked like a really good man and maybe I'm a little clouded because I saw his family talking about him after the fact, so you get a little bit different image maybe. But to me he looked like somebody who was doing what they were asking him to do and this young officer I don't know what she was thinking. I don't know what she was thinking but I am very, very troubled by that," said Trump to applause.
Trump's comments came after he was asked by Rev. Darrell Scott, CEO of the National Diversity Coalition for Trump and pastor of the New Spirit Revival Center church in Cleveland Heights where the town hall was held, to comment on the "recent shootings of unarmed black men by the police."

I wish Trump would withhold judgement on this until all evidence is out.
geesh...STFU, Donald and focus on HILLIARY!!!
The video looks bad. Also the fact that women officers tend to shoot when rattled.
Nothing wrong with being honest about what he sees. That is why Trump’s poll numbers are climbing.
The female cop panicked.. Nervous twitchy-finger trigger pull?
This was sounding to me like a “the cops acted stupidly” moment from trump, and then it hit me: Do you think it will impact the black vote? Especially if this IS one of those cases where it is pretty darned clear to everyone who has seen it that the cops look pretty bad in this case.
Just thinking out loud.
Trump just garnered more black support for his Presidential bid. However, it did appear to me that the use of force was very questionable indeed. Trump framed it the right way as well, he did not say the cop was at fault, just his impression based upon what he saw. I too will allow any and all evidence to be examined before forming any definitive judgment in the case.
I agree, he should not go there!
I imagine this might upset some people. Personally, I’m not sure I agree with Trump on this point.
But Trump has one job right now: Get Elected.
This is just smart politics. The Democrats depend heavily on African-American votes. Trump is making in-roads into that demographic even though many have been brainwashed into thinking “he’s a racist”. He needs to work against that perception and take as many votes as possible away from Hillary.
As a viewer of the media, Trump can watch his TV and tells us his impression. What’s the big deal? That’s not establishing a federal policy. It’s just politics. Smart politics.
I believe we are all troubled to an extent, so putting thoughts into words can include “troubled”.
His comments about Crutcher doing everything right, is problematic for me. I realize the setting he was in, and I do think it wise to express that this isn’t a slam dunk win for the police.
An investigation will be forthcoming, and we will hear more of the details. Either way, this will get a full airing. That is as it should be.
As long as Trump does not definitively state the police were wrong without a shadow of a doubt, I can accept him saying he is troubled.
Reasoned people on both sides can sign on to that.
I don’t think his comments buttress the activities of the Black Lives Matter movement. Trump is a law and order man, and he wants to see the process go forward.
So do I for that matter.
The police can make massive mistakes. I hope they didn’t here, but I am open to the results of an investigation.

Ditto !
.
I mean first blush video did look bad, Trump said it looked bad but he didn’t seem to jump the gun and start blaming whites or police as whole and saying everybody is racist to the core. I think he made a good commentry to fit the situation he was in for what he knew at the time without looking like he was dodging the question.
I agree with you. Female cops are a BAD idea. They are PHYSICALLY INFERIOR which causes them to ‘lean more’ on using their gun. I am right about this so no one argue with me on this, please.
There is an issue with trigger-happy cops. Donald is right not to plant himself on one side or the other on an issue.
Nervous twitchy-finger trigger pull?
My thoughts too.
BTW, there are situations where a MALE cop might feel inferior to a suspect, causing the MALE cop to ‘lean more’ on using his gun. But females cops are inherently more likely to lean more on using their guns BECAUSE THEY ARE INHERENTLY WEAKER than NEARLY ALL male suspects!
Roger, THAT!
video looked bad, Mr Trump said what was necessary methinks
*and he said it adroitly, too
He didn’t pass judgment just made a few observations
