Moderators have been banned from wearing earpieces during the upcoming presidential debates.
In a memo sent to new organizations this week, The Commission on Presidential Debates said Lester Holt, Martha Raddatz, Anderson Cooper and Chris Wallace would not be allowed to wear earpieces while moderating the debates between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, Page Six reported Saturday.
The announcement comes just one week after Matt Lauer was criticized for the questions he asked Clinton during the Commander-in-Chief forum in New York City when he was wearing an earpiece.
In an interview with Jimmy Fallon earlier this week, Trump said he thought Lauer did a fantastic job.
I thought Matt Lauer did a fantastic job, Trump said. And theyre trying to game the system by saying Trump won the debate because Matt Lauer wasnt as tough on Trump as he was on Hillary Clinton.
Clinton sent out a fundraising email the day after the forum attacking Lauer for not fact-checking Trump.

How the Trump camp consented to these moderators is beyond me!!!
Wallace is especially unacceptable!!!
week end at Bernies....... I mean Hillary needs that ear piece so the puppet masters now can tell her what to say and keep her on task
All of the campaign contributions from members of the Commission on Presidential Debates went to Hillary Clinton.
I would argue that it doesn’t matter
Trump will prevail
It's part of the rigged system. Trump has illuminated that by suggesting a "no moderator" style of forum. That won't happen, but the suggestion in advance sets up post-debate argument of how the moderator was actually a partisan participant, thumb on the scale.
It will be fun if Trump asks hillary if she’s wearing an earpiece.
If they allow Hillary and earpiece, the debate should be cancelled. Either that, or Trump should challenge up front to remove it.
It’s not going to make any difference, he will mop up the floor in the debates, regardless of the biased moderators. He will come off as Presidential. Chill and have faith my man.
Could you imagine as the debate starts for trump to challenge Hillary to remove her earpiece, if she has one? That would really get things going.
The candidates can decide not to participate. The commission should be abolished and direct negotiations between the candidates will decide the terms of the debates.
What?
There’s a better chance Chris Wallace will be fair than all the rest of ‘em combined. You smoking the wacky weed?
Trumps team should jam the signal.
I like the post before yours and it would be typical Trump. “Ms Clinton are you getting help with answers with an ear piece?”
The future President Trump should make a show of exposing his ‘earpiece-less’ ears to the cameras before the debates and then motion to hil to do the same.
Why not candidates too?
Trump’s ear piece should be on the frequency of hillary’s
I don't care if Hilliary has an earpiece to add a voice inside her head, or a thousand more voices in her head. The voice in her head living rent free now will dominate.
As she pauses in speaking to pick the right words, she is so apt to experience a mental overload.
She is not able to play 4 dimensional verbal chess with the Master.
Clinton sent out a fundraising email the day after the forum attacking Lauer for not fact-checking Trump.I think that there is little doubt that Lauer could have filled up all the available time - with either candidate - probing inconsistencies in the candidates words. But that is not the point. The point is that Hillary, that both Clintons, do little else but lie. They are famous for it. They set records for Most untrustworthy titles won, year after year.
The fact that in a short time you could not probe all of Trumps inconsistencies does not balance the fact you could not probe Hillarys outright lies in ten times the time.
I agree. The press has no legitimate function is setting up or directing the debates. The press will always give an advantage to one side or the other, whether by design or by accident.
