What exactly are the high conservative principles of Romney and McCain that Trump has failed to express?
A few days ago David Limbaugh, a widely-syndicated Republican commentator (and Rushs less fiery younger brother) posted a commentary intended to deescalate the tensions between Trumps supporters and the never-Trumpers. Limbaugh defines himself as a reluctant Trumper, who decided to support the Donald as the lesser of two evils after his preferred candidate Ted Cruz stumbled in the primaries. Limbaugh does not hide his dislike for Trumps free-wheeling rhetoric and believes that the GOP nominees critics on the right may be fully justified in doubting his genuine commitment to conservative policies.
Despite these doubts, Limbaugh endorses Trump for reasons that one also hears from Sean Hannity, Pat Buchanan, Jerry Falwell, Jr., Larry Elder, and yours truly. Trump has many incentives to implement our [conservative] policies, while Hillary Clinton has absolutely none. He is also, not incidentally, bestowing on the Republican Party a large working class constituency; and even among racial minorities, he is doing at least as well, and in the case of prospective black voters, better than his GOP centrist predecessors, Mitt Romney and John McCain. Moreover, it is hard not to see Trumps focusing on the problems of illegals and sanctuary cities as anything other than a conservative issue. That remains the case even if most of his primary competitors and certainly the editorial board of the Wall Street Journal might wish those issues had never been brought into the primaries.

The only principle that matters to the NeverTrumpers is to prevent the citizens from reversing 30 years of bipartisan policy of non-enforcement of immigration laws.
The illegal alien inundation was INTENTIONAL.
BOTH parties have been blocking the citizens from doing anything about it.
This time they got Trumped and they are pissed.
There needs to be a great book about DJT’s run for office entitled Let’s do this!, the words spoken by Trump as he went to descend the escalator 06/16/2015. What a lesson in one person’s ability to make a decision and carry it out!
Some are. The party elites who want to hang onto the staus quo are. I think the rest are simply deluded and incapable of rational thought. They cannot seem to see the devastating consequences of "Trump loses = Hillary wins". I saw it a couple of days ago in a thread in which some FReepers were defending Mark Levin for "staying true to his conservative principles". Somehow Trump is not conservative enough, but the crap sandwiches of McCain and Romney were?
The never trumpers are bush republicans. Bush cabal brought down a few presidents, killed many people and addicted many people. They used and abused middle class Americans and poor the world over for their personal gain. They are just a bit less crude than the clintons. Never trumpers love oligarchies. They just want their own in power.
Well done.
Red faced and revealed in their inadequacy, they canot forgive Trump for acting like the only man in the room, during some of the debates. It is time when all who care about America swallow their pride and join the fight. An American future is the issue; and we dare not fail in the event.
... and by failing to protect and defend our Constitution the only way possible this election year -- that is, by voting for Donald TrumP -- the NeverTrumpers have demonstrated their attack on conservative values in the clearest possible way.
This is not to demean anyone else. But to encourage a flood into our midst of those who hate our particular proclivities, is hardly a way to honor or preserve the America our politicians have sworn to uphold.
I care not how pompous the faux Conservatives, who carry water for the Leftwing theorists, may be; how they prance around trying to justify the most arrant stupidity. In their demonstrated folly, they abdicate any claim on our respect or deference.
Amen! There is nothing conservative about this collection of putrid turds in the punch bowl only their weird self-importance and crookedness. Trump tears their little play house down and they are having an emotional upheaval. Will, the Kraut, Goldberg, Kristol, Hewitt, Rove etc... hey boys I hear there are many many part time jobs out there in the fast food industry just waiting for your vast knowledge, skills and conservative principles!
Yes it is, I stopped listening to Mark about 3-4 years ago, and Rush during the primes as he was soooo in the toilet for the fraud Cruz.
I have been in Trumps camp since he entered the race.

Well said.
Thank you very much - it’s been so long since I actually felt “joy” during an election. I’m still not used to it - lol!
LOL... and thankfully so - Since we've had mccain and romney, we know how horrible that would have been!
Thanks - Its been a long time since I’ve seen so many people feel so much HOPE!!!
“I wonder, what will be his payback? They will not get off scott free”
We saw a movie trailer last week, for “Magnificent 7”, I think. A man asked a woman, “What do you want?” She said something like, “I want righteousness, but I’ll settle for revenge.” I thought it was a good line.
Donald is smart; he’ll figure out something.
Paul Gottfried bump
Paul Gottfried is great. I read him for years in Chronicles magazine.
I found what’s reputed to be an archive of his articles, although I haven’t had a chance to look through it:

“I read a Bible-themed book recently by David Limbaugh and thought it was pretty informative, “
I heard David Limbaugh speaking about his book and it struck me that it sounded very much like a crib of the works of John Warwick Montgomery, a major figure in Christian apologetics. If the subject interests you you might want to pick up some of Montgomery’s books, they really don’t go out of date.
