Second Amendment rights advocacy organization the Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL), along with two of its members, today filed a $12 million defamation lawsuit against Katie Couric, director Stephanie Soechtig, Atlas Films, and Studio 3 Partners LLC d/b/a Epix for false and defamatory footage featured in the 2016 documentary film Under the Gun. The film portrays a fictional exchange in which members of the VCDL appear silent, stumped, and avoiding eye contact for nearly nine seconds after Katie Couric asks a question about background checks. An unedited audio recording of the interview reveals that—contrary to the portrayal in the film—the VCDL members had immediately begun responding to Couric’s question.

I expect that word fictional will be a defense and the small print.....Any resemblance to actual events or locales or persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental....unless they used real names, organizations etc....Katie has always been tricky...
And a free firearm of your choice to everyone who passed a background check.
Katie Couric, director Stephanie Soechtig, and other accomplices need to do hard time at a maximum security prison.
Also Second Amendment organizations, gun clubs, and other similar groups should file to get a restraining order against Katy and the other felons, prohibiting them from approaching any of their organizations’ members.

Wow!! Guess “perky” Katie will be less “perkie” in the future. She should stick to films getting her head examined by proctologists.
Will be VERY difficult for the defense to explain away the OBVIOUS editing that occurred in that video. But remember when a news network edited the George Zimmerman comment to make it seem he was ‘racist’? I think he lost his lawsuit even though it was CLEAR the network defamed/slandered/liabled him.
