Hillary Clinton Was Politically Incorrect, but She Wasn't Wrong About Trump's Supporters
Clinton said half of Donald Trumps supporters were prejudiced. If anything, her numbers are too low.
Ta-Nehisi Coates Sep 10, 2016
This week Matt Lauer was subject to withering criticism for his ineffectual interrogation of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. In a litany of complaints, one rose above allLauers failure to challenge Trumps mendacious claim that he opposed the Iraq War. That Trump was lying is not a matter of opinion, but demonstrable fact.
Lauers inability to cite the record was a striking journalistic failurebut one related to the larger failures implicit in political reporting today. Political reporting, as it is now practiced, is a not built for a world where outright lying is one candidates distinguishing feature. And the problem is not limited to the lies the candidate tells, but encompasses the lies we tell ourselves about why the candidate exists in the first place.
Yesterday, Hillary Clinton claimed that roughly half of Trumps supporters could be characterized as either racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic you name it. Clinton hedged by saying she was being grossly generalistic but given that no one appreciates being labeled a bigot, that statement still feels harshor if you prefer, politically incorrect.
One way of reporting on Clintons statement is to weigh its political cost, ask what it means for her campaign, or attempt to predict how it might affect her performance among certain groups. This path is in line with the current imperatives of political reporting and, at least for the moment, seems to be the direction of coverage. But there is another line of reporting that could be pursuedWas Hillary Clinton being truthful or not?

See post #12, Coates was born in Baltimore, Maryland. Probably some African name his dad came up with since he was a former black panther.
It comes in several colors as well. No, I am not the one selling them, LOL.
Got it. Good recommendation, Robert.
Ye-bandu of course
I’ grinning from ear to ear. I wear it proudly as a badge of honor. I would even consider in investing in a tee shirt.
So ... it’s now OK to be politically incorrect? As long as you’re not wrong?
Can we begin that conversation on Race in America now? Hmmmmmmmm?
What Hillary said about Trump supporters is simply a restating of the core belief of liberals.... the vast majority of Americans are too stupid to make the “right” decisions in their lives so big government and liberal elites must make these decisions for them. Liberals like Hillary and the Hollywood leftists have always loathed ordinary Americans, and in what they believe are “private” meetings often express their utter contempt for us. Remember Obama contemptuously referring to the bitter people clinging to their guns and religion? Hillary campaigning in front of ordinary Americans can’t fully suppress her condescension and thus appears stiff and detached as she is seeing her audience as nothing but ignorant fools who will fall for her lies. Hillary admits she hasn’t driven a car in decades and when seen in a fast food restaurant looks bewildered. Liberal elites are totally out of touch with Americans and see us as nothing but rubes who they can exploit.
Looks like a real genius.
Not new for HRC. Recall a previous debate:
"During a Democratic presidential debate last fall, Clinton and other candidates were asked which enemy they've made during their political careers makes them most proud. "Well, in addition to the NRA, the health insurance companies, the drug companies, the Iranians probably the Republicans," Clinton replied."

Odd that Obama didn't re-tweet this after that seeing smirking bleat of hers, huh.
Hilary Clinton is an old worn out anti American
In her verbiage, Hilary is an Ameriphobe
Please, please, please , do. I hope that the people of my generation [60s, 70s, and 80s] will make it more unpleasant for you than it was for the Germans when they rounded up their deplorables. I know that I am going to do everything in my power to make it as unpleasant as possible.
Je Suis Deplorable
