NEW YORK — With Election Day less than two months away, Democrats are increasingly worried that Hillary Clinton has not built a formidable lead against Donald Trump despite his historic weaknesses as a national party candidate.
Even the Democratic nominee’s advisers acknowledge that she must make changes, and quickly. Clinton leads Trump by a mere three percentage points, having fallen from her high of nine points in August, according to the latest Real Clear Politics average. That tightening has frustrated many Clinton allies and operatives, who are astonished that she isn’t running away with this race given Trump’s deep unpopularity and never-ending stream of controversial comments.
“Generally, I’m concerned, frankly,” said former Democratic Senate leader Thomas A. Daschle (S.D.). “It still looks positive, and I think if you look at the swing states and where she is right now, she’s got a lead. But it’s certainly not in the bag. We have two months to go, and I think it’s going to be a competitive race all the way through. I would say she’s got at least a 60 percent chance of winning.”
At the same time, Daschle said, “all the things that Trump has done, the numbers should be far more explicitly in her favor, but they’re not.”
Among Democrats’ concerns is the fact that Clinton spent a great deal of time over the summer raising millions of dollars in private fundraisers — while Trump was devoting much of his schedule to rallies, speeches and TV appearances.

She has an ad running in CA. right now trying to make Trump look unstable, bleeping several areas making Trump look like he is cursing EVERYTIME I see the ad all I think is I listen to this language ALL day long at work anymore from both men and women why in the world would she think this is going to hurt him !!! One line in the ad is I am going to bomb the bleep out if them, I am thinking YES let’s bomb the shit out of them I think most Americans feel the same way!!! HELLARY is BARKING up the wrong tree she THINKS America is shocked by his NON PC speak and she is dead wrong the PC CRAP being forced down our throats is EXACTLY why he is WINNING !!!! People drop the F BOMB more today than I have EVER heard in my lifetime!!!

Not everyone, yet. But I think Trump inserting the Watergate label is starting to sink into the public consciousness. Her stink is starting to become more obvious daily. WHY IS SHE RUNNING ANY ADS IN CALIFORNIA???? This state should be entirely in the bank for her. It’s a total waste of money. This is another thing that tells me they are very worried. It would be like Trump running ads in South Dakota or South Carolina.

You don't make changes when you're ahead, so I suspect her advisors know that she's not really ahead.
These people aren't stupid. They watched Donald Trump outperform his numbers in almost every poll during the GOP primary season, and they are probably alarmed right now for a very important reason: Trump's numbers can improve, but Hillary Clinton is such a "known quantity" that she probably has all the supporters she's ever going to get.
