For right now I am inland. Next year hoping to be on the coast. My mother in law has made it for 50 years, if it takes me I am ready.

I have spent most of my life along the LA/TX coast and have seen some major damage/destruction/deaths
caused by the storms. I have always had a place to go to be out of the direct hit/eye. Good luck
and take care. Hope you enjoy Coast be it Atlantic or GOM.

Yes we do. Looks like the Tropical Depression is just going to brush the Eastern edge of NC and not bring the needed rain inland. Too bad.

My best friend, I visit twice a year, is going to be right under it when it comes ashore near Cedar Key.
Other than flying tree branches pretty meek. Rain needed.

We shall see. Our part of NC has been spared any really bad hurricanes in the recent past....so I am hoping that continues. But a nice little tropical depression to end the drought here would not be all bad.

The folks on the weather channel are praying for a Hurricane, they haven’t been important in a decade and their global warming scare tactics have been noticeably lacking ...

The NWS was relegated to naming T/storms last year to get the numbers to match prediction.

Thank goodness the storm is well offshore now. It is creeping along at 2mph. Tampa may be seriously flooded by Thursday, on the dirty side of the storm.

NHC says getting better organized. Models are hinting at hurricane strength before landfall.
