Police allegedly shot dead a deaf man outside his front door as he tried to communicate with them in sign language.
Officers in North Carolina had attempted to pull over 29-year-old Daniel Harris last Thursday for speeding, according to NBC.
But instead of slowing down, Mr Harris continued on his way home.
One witness reported Mr Harris was then shot and killed "almost immediately" after exiting his vehicle".
The witness said it appeared the victim had attempted to communicate with an officer via sign language when he was fired on outside of his home.

LMAO!!! You win the interwebs award for the day!
#speedinglivesmatter.
This sounds terrible, but so did the shooting of Philando Castile sounded terrible too, in the initial MSM reports.
The truth came out over the next few weeks, and changed the story quite a lot.
Maybe it was “don’t shoot.” Do you know what “shoot” is in sign language?
I remember that sketch. One of the few funny roles played by Garrett Morris.
1 Guy was speeding
2 Guy didn’t bother to look in his rear view to see the police
3 He didn’t pull over
4 He continued to drive all the way home
5 He exited the vehicle, saw the officers, and flailed his hands around...
How are the officers to know what’s going on? He didn’t.
Is there even one citizen that doesn’t know you don’t do these things?
Well..., yes.
I’m really sorry to read of this. What an unfortunate set of circumstances.
This guy had resisted arrest before. He knew what was up. The cop couldn’t know the guy was deaf. Come charging out of your car with your hands waving after having been pursued while refusing to pull over and bad things are going to happen.
Something representing don’t...
...then forming your hand like a gun and mimicking shooting?
Other than that, I have no idea.
Was the sign in question a single middle finger by chance?
I suspect that’s it or something close. The bottom line is, don’t use sign language on a cop until you’ve established a little rapport with him. Smile first.
Legal system will figure it out.
Black cop, white perp. Media won’t cover it long.
Your bottom line is a good one.
My bottom line here is Murphy’s Law # 232,768
If it can go wrong, it will go wrong, traffic stop while hearing impaired
If he was deaf and he happened not to look in rear view mirror, how could he know the police were trying to pull him over?
Did he have a weapon?
We have to start realizing that SOME of these incidents are NOT the fault of the dead person.
Today’s police are NOT your Daddy’s police. Too frequently they act like paramilitary forces in an occupied country instead of like public servants.
And thanks primarily to the BLM maniacs it will get worse.
Seems like a good reason for deaf people to not drive without a hearing passenger. Not being able to hear sirens either doesn’t seem like a good idea.
Wait, what if he was signing, “I’M GONNA ——ING KILL EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU!”
It’s illegal in most states to drive with headphones on because you can’t hear horns, sirens, etc. Why is it legal for a deaf person to get a license? I know, I know! Hearing aids. But, he apparently wasn’t wearing one.
The first report I heard was that there was contact between the cars prior to the arrival at the home. A lot more to this story.
