Dakota Meyer, the son-in-law of Sarah Palin and a Medal of Honor recipient, has called on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump to apologize to the family of slain US Army Capt. Humayun Khan.
Meyer, a Marine Corps veteran and the second youngest living person to receive the military's highest honor, joined the backlash and blasted Trump for criticizing Khan's father and mother after they appeared at the Democratic National Convention in support of Hillary Clinton last week.
'If @realDonaldTrump wants to be the Commander in Chief, he needs to act like one,' Meyer wrote in a tweet to his 73,000 followers. 'And that cant start until he apologizes to the Khans.'
Clinton retweeted Meyer's tweet for her eight million followers. Her campaign has seized on the controversy, and members of Trump's own party have turned against him or distanced themselves from him.
Meyer, 28, who is married to Bristol Palin, the daughter of 2008 Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, has been involved in Republican politics and backed Senator Ted Cruz for the nomination.
President Barack Obama awarded Meyer, a former Marine Corps corporal from Columbia, Kentucky, the Medal of Honor in 2011 for his heroic actions during a six-hour battle with the Taliban in Afghanistan in 2009.
Trump has angered politicians on both sides of the political spectrum after he made critical remarks against Khan's father, Khizr, who spoke at the DNC, and mother, Ghazala, who appeared on stage with him. Meyer was awarded the military's highest honor for his heroic actions in Afghanistan
Their 27-year-old son was killed in a suicide attack while serving in Iraq in 2004. The Muslim soldier was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

The Khan artist’s son is a hero, his father is not. Kahnartist is using his dead son’s memory for politics. It’s a very sad thing to see.
Trump isn’t responsible for the death of Khanartist’s son, like Hillary who is directly responsible for the hero’s deaths in Benghazi.
He should at least earn his GED before he comments on grownup issues.
Khans whole spiel is based on the hypothetical.
When khans son was killed - as well as hundreds of other American soldiers, Trump was building skyscrapers.
If Trump HAD been president, khans son would still be alive, becaus even:
1. He would have never went into Iraq, and;
2. With his Muslim vetting system, chances are the Kahns (affiliated with the Muslim brotherhood) would have never been here, his son would not have been ine the American armed forces, and they would all be alive and well back in Pakistan.
3.Kahn wouldn’t been here to promote Muslim immigration, negating the need for a Muslim ban.
Contact your local VFW or American Legion. They might have a wall or display of ribbons from deceased vets.

Dakota Meyer is to be admired for his military service and for being a Medal of Honor recipient, but good God, surely he must realize that his absurd comments about Donald Trump only help Hillary, a woman who considers the military to be an enemy.
Hillary re-tweeted Dakota’a tweet for God’s sake. He really needs to get with the program. The Mama Grizzly from Wasilla needs to take her son-in-the-law to the proverbial wood shed and have a “come to Jesus” conversation with him.
Meyer has lost over 1,000 followers on Twitter since yesterday for his back stabbing of Trump. Maybe more.
I’m sure this is politically incorrect to ask, but has anybody confirmed that the Khan’s son was actually in the U. S. Military?
If so, did he fight on our side? The fact that his father keeps whining about Trump makes me think this was all a setup. We know Trump should think before he speaks, but it’s over. Draw your own conclusions about what was said, but doesn’t it appear that the father is getting something out of this? Just asking.

Has anyone taken a REALLY close look at how “heroic” the son, Humayun Khan, really was? The story seems a little contrived, to say the least.
