IMHO, she felt threatened by Warren, Booker and Bernie. Felt she might be upstaged, just like Obama upstaged her in 08'. She might feel more secure with Kaine, but she just lost the election.

It is interesting. There is also a youtube video from yesterday circulating where it appears that she is having a seizure. If she should somehow beat Trump I don’t think she’d be able to finish her term.
It is possible that she is having a seizure. The Democratic Nominee having seizures in front of cameras makes for uncertain times during a general election.
Let’s not forget the Bernie supporters who are angry at what the DNC dis to him. They appear to have split the Dem votes up into several isolated factions. I don’t see them getting any unity.

She chose based on electoral votes. Kaine brings nothing earth shattering. We know Clinton believes Virginia is ground zero with the electoral college. What do they have....about 14 EC votes? I don’t remember.In other words, she sees it as very, very close and MUST wrap up the Washington DC liberals.

Very true. They are worried about VA, also black and hispanic vote in general. That is why they picked him, he apparently speaks spanish.
This is easily neutralized though. Tie him to other corrupt VA Governors like current Terry McAuliffe ( a die-hard Clintonista and their former money man ) and Bob McDonnell ( whatever he allegedly did ). Kaine was a proven gift-taker and Trump will have a field day with this.
As for speaking spanish, surely Trump or his wife or one of his kids or Pence or someone high up in the campaign also speaks it. Many won't agree, but I think spanish language ads skewering the Clintons are vital, not just in VA, but everywhere. Something along these lines ...

As I calculated a year ago, unlike Cruz or Jeb or Rubio, Donald J. Trump would put a majority of the dozen swing states ( MI, PA, OH, FL, IN, NC, NV, NM, VA, CO, WI, IA ) firmly into play. Those are the twelve that McCain/Palin lost, and Romney/Ryan just picked up NC and IN. I never had high confidence in three of them ( VA, NM, CO ) but the other nine are most definitely on the table.
Trump has a decent shot in at least 3 blue states as well ( NH, OR, HI ) and an outside shot in previously unthinkable blue states ( NJ, CT ).
The enemy built-in (D)emographic advantage is about 70 electoral votes and this Kaine development means that their bean counters are worried.
