CLEVELAND (AP) -- Sen. Ted Cruz's Texas-size political ambitions will be on full display Wednesday as the primary runner-up delivers a prime-time convention speech, but holds off on a full-throated endorsement of Republican nominee Donald Trump.
The conservative senator repeatedly clashed with Trump during a bitter primary fight, with the New York businessman mocking the lawmaker as "Lyin' Ted." With an eye toward 2020, Cruz's team drafted a convention speech focusing on adherence to the Constitution, a calling card for conservatives and a perceived contrast with Trump.
Cruz has not endorsed Trump despite pleas for party unity from the campaign and party officials. Nor is he expected to in his speech, which was carefully screened by Trump campaign officials, the senator's aides said.

If Cruz won’t endorse Trump, the LEAST he can do to help him is tell his supporters to not disrupt anything, to not walk out etc. I doubt he will, as he only cares about 2020 and himself.

I don’t get your support for this guy as honorable. His colleagues overwhelmingly despise him and it has nothing to do with any presumed principled conservatism. Most evangelicals, his presumed strength of support, are cynical about his pretentious spirituality enough to contribute to his several defeats in the primaries.
His father anointed him with his prophetic anointing in the context of Dominionism, an objectionable and intrinsically anti-semitic theology. Years ago on this site we had to contend and fight against Dominionists (and assorted Replacement Theologies) , white supremacists, storm front jackasses, etc. Most are gone.
While I don’t believe Cruz is anti-semitic in any way many find this ‘anointing’ an effective indication of a deep seated perversion of his spirit where the pretentious spirituality which he can naturally claim is undermined by obvious character flaws which patently undermine the assumptions of him and his followers.
Ultimately though, I believe he will acknowledge the ticket tonight if not nominally so.

After reading the comments, I am of the opinion that most Freepers are acting as if they are just schills for the MSM. All you do is swallow everything the MSM tells you about Cruz. No where, NO WHERE, is there on piece of evidence that Cruz will not endorse Trump.
Cruz said last week he would endorse Trump, and nothing has changed. Tonight he will do so just as Reagan did. If trump loses to Hillary, Cruz will be back in 2000, but I believe Trump will win in a landslide.
Get over your animosity from the mean spirited primary and focus your hate on Hillary. Ted will endorse and he will campaign for Trump. That is why he was given the prime time spot on Wednesday the day before Trump takes center stage on Thursday.

Cruz either honors his pledge (a pledge btw intended to corner Trump) or he doesn’t honor his pledge.
There is no other debate. He will either be honest tonight and honor his word or he is just another low life lying politician.

Ted Cruz made a name for himself at Harvard Law School, claiming he followed the ‘original intent’ of the Constitution.... Our Constitution has NOT been changed that makes the foreign born ‘natural born’ US citizens... We do not need another Harvard Law Schooled lawyer as Commander-in-Chief.. IF you consider Ted Cruz ‘constitutionally’ eligible, then every one of Obama and lying Paul Ryan's newly imported refugees are every bit as eligible to hold the office of president as is Ted Cruz... DO NO MESS WITH OUR CONSTITUTION, especially claiming it is in the name of GOD!!!!
